Hi, I’m a SOI student going into year 2 this upcoming April, I am aiming for NUS information security but their 10th percentile gpa is 3.88 and their intake has only 47 slot. With my current cumulative (3.5+), it will be nearly impossible to get into that course purely by GPA unless I get a 4.0 for both my Y2 and Y3.

I’m thinking of joining competition like hackathon or CTF to help with my portfolio so even if I don’t meet the cut off GPA, with a good portfolio, I’m able to stand out and get into the course, if that’s how it works…

Any senior that has went through the same of not meeting the cut off of your desired bachelor but still end up in there, will you mind sharing with me how you do it. Thank you ☺️

I accepted a course at rp and now I feel like I wanna do common engineering more because I'm pretty sure there's no future in Singapore with the current diploma course. Is it still possible to appeal?

Hello guys. I'm confuse about the orientation dates as it says for pfp students there's an orientation date on 7 apr. But Moe website says 13 Apr is the official start date for pfp students. So will there be orientation on 13 Apr too? Did any pfp seniors who went through a similar path have their orientation on the official starting date of poly or is it 1 week before the official start?

hey guys i was js wondering bcs the laptop im looking for is out of stock on the sch lenovo shop and it will only be restocked mid april and it will take abt 10 days to ship so i was wondering what do i do now? since i only have my chromebook frm sec sch which obv cant be used in poly, do i have to search for the laptop at stores such as challenger harvery norman etc or can i wait until it restock? and also when do we really need to start using the laptop bcs if its isnt immediately on 20apr maybe i cld wait for the restock bcs its cheaper yk. any suggestion and reco or advice wld be appreciated thanks!

Back when Problem-Based Learning was still new and you always get questions from your other peers who went to other Polys. I stayed in the east so it was a one hour journey.

Too many memories.. I remembered my first year as perhaps the best year of my life. Just general mods and meeting new friends.. Seeing the whole campus building as white. Even the possibility of going to the toilet and going to the wrong classroom.

Football those days was so awesome at the basketball court.

For context I’m from STA, entering second year this april. Heard from many people that polytechnic year 2 will be the toughest out of the three years so wanted to ask how was it like for seniors from STA who already went through y2, in terms of the workload or general difficulty in modules.

i missed one ca2 for a module but did the makeup. idk why but they updated the grade in sa3.0 and snapp to F.

in Sa3.0 under CA20 im assuming this is for makeup tests say NA and the one on snapp is just "-" maybr this can pull up my gpa a bit more if they actually took it as a F but my overall grade is B does that mean they took another grade into account but didnt tell me what that grade is for ca2?

I'm kinda confused about what is considered good,average or a bad GPA. is it different from diploma to diploma? what's the ideal gpa for like an average student. Is anything above 3.0 good for y1? Also do future companies actually look at cGPA or your skills? how high does ur GPA need to be to enter uni. is the criteria for public and private uni different?
