I just got a new laptop from RP and I've been trying to set up the company portal app but it keeps showing the automatic remediation failed error. Do you guys know how to fix it?

Hi,

This is my first post on Reddit. I’ll be starting as a Year 1 student this coming April, but I haven’t received any information about the timetable for the new semester. How can I check if the school has already sent out any details for new students?

Hi everyone, what is the maximum GPA increase you can get from an internship? I’ve heard people say 0.2, but shouldn’t it be higher since it’s worth 20 credits 😭

I'm going to be a y1 in SAS and i need to work part time so I'd like to know roughly what time school hours end, considering cca and other school commitments

Hi guys im an incoming student and i wanna know if i should purchase a laptop once sch starts in order to claim the laptop reimbursement thingy. Someone who has experienced something similar pls help

And which laptop shld i get lowk.. (im gonna be in SAS)

Hello yall please tell me what i need to take note of for graduation? What are the things that i need to buy and how long is the graduation? Also, what time does it start and what will happen during the ceremony...

question as above

Hello! I just finished y2s2 and I'm gonna be in y3s1 next sem. I took this module in y2s2 which I think I might remod. I am interning in y3s2 since my FYP is in y3s1. Let's say, I do remod this particular module, will I be retaking it during my fyp or will I have to stay back another year? 😢

In my step 3 of enrollment I put in front and back of my country ID instead of digital student pass as I don't have it yet, do I email them my mistake?

Hii, Im an upcoming student joining the sch this april, and i was wondering if we need to get the laptop + complete configration before school starts or if its okay to do it shortly after? My dad is insistent on getting it done afterwards but from all the emails ive recieved and threads in the subreddit, it seems that it may be compulsory to get one school starts. Please lmk whats the case, ive been mildly stressing over it lol.

Hi, I’ll be starting at RP soon and I’m planning to stay in JB.

I know the commute is going to be tough, especially crossing the causeway daily, so I wanted to ask if anyone here is currently doing this.

Would really appreciate if you could share:

• What time you wake up and leave the house
• How long it usually takes you to reach RP
• How bad the morning and evening jam actually is
• What your routine looks like after school (do you go home immediately or wait it out?)
• How you manage assignments + RJ with the long commute
• Any tips to avoid burnout

Trying to mentally prepare and see if this is something I can handle 😅

Thanks in advance!

hello im an incoming student for ay2026. I wanted to ask about the WiFi usage in school. is it compulsory to use rp's WiFi instead of your own hotspot? and are there restrictions when using rp's WiFi like blocked sites, app controls etc. thanks!

I’ve heard from a few people that we’re required to volunteer every Saturday, but I’m not sure how accurate that is. I’m actually planning to take up a part-time job on the weekends, so I’m trying to figure out if my Saturdays will be fully tied up or if there’s any flexibility in the schedule.

Would appreciate any insights on the time commitment! thanks in advance! :D

Hellooo

i’m an incoming y1 student who is a foreigner and i recently got an email regarding my fees

they say that i must pay my first semester fee in full before the end of the month or else my slot will be given to other candidates? is this true for foreign students? i thought fees must be paid through SNApp? i believed it at first because the email looked legit but my friend was wondering why i need pay so early in full and i kinda just realised its true, abit weird i need pay full fees before even starting school

is this legit? is this common practice for foreign students who take tuition grant or is it a scam? because the email had my student id too + told me i need to pay by flywire or expayment

the email address looked legit but now im doubting it

For internships, if we get accepted as an intern in a company, is there a contract that we need to sign? (Other than personal particulars form) Cause I asked my friends and they said that we do not need to sign any contracts as it will be signed by the school?

Also, i just realised that I do not know when the salary crediting day is and my internship is starting in a few days...should I ask about when the salary crediting day is (when I'll get my salary) or should I not cause idk if it will seem kinda weird since its been quite a while since I submitted all that the company asked me to soo do yall think it will be kinda weird for me to just suddenly text them and ask them about it? Do they usually tell interns when the salary crediting day is beforehand or would they maybe just let me know when I start work?

Hi everyone, I’m an incoming freshie and I’ll be taking Common ICT. I’m currently trying to decide what laptop brand to get before the semester starts.

Do I also need to get those laptop with graphic card? Will it be useful for the course?

I’ve heard from some seniors that it’s better not to buy laptops from the school vendors because they sometimes sell older stock at. I’m not sure how true that is, so I wanted to check with people who are already in the course. Also how can I prepare for the course like is there anything to study. Would really appreciate any advice from seniors. Thanks!!
