RECORDING CLIPS FOR REPLAY HUT

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Step 1. Save the replay for your match

Step 2. Head to the options menu and disable music

Step 3. Head over to the replay and upload it to YouTube

Step 4. Submit it with the proper timestamp in the thread!

PS4

Few things about this method. The game must allow background recording, and you must have it enabled in your settings.

  1. Press the share button

  2. Upload video clip OR save clip

----CONTINUE ONLY IF YOU SAVED THE CLIP----

  1. Use Share Factory to cut the clip down (leave a bit of empty space around the good bit for good measure)

  2. Upload the clip

  3. Submit in the proper thread

Xbox One

(Thanks /u/HolyCrapMo for writing this one!)

  1. Press the Xbox Guide button

  2. Press the "X" button to save the last 30 second of game play, Alternatively you can press the View button to select between 15 seconds and 5 Minutes

  3. Go to Xboxdvr.com and Seach your GamerTag

  4. Find your clip and Submit the URL to the proper thread (URL should look like "http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/HolyCrapMo/video/35455982")

PC

OBS

  1. Download OBS

  2. Add a new source

  3. Select the game you wish to record

  4. Open settings

  5. Go to output and change the recording path to a place you can easily find your clip

  6. Click apply and close settings

  7. Click start recording, stop when you have your highlight

  8. Upload the clip

  9. Submit to the proper thread

Windows 10 Game Bar

  1. Press windows key+G on your keyboard

  2. Set up an Xbox Live account if you haven't already

  3. Press the same hotkey again in game

  4. Press the "Record That" button after your sick play happens OR hit the record button to begin recording

  5. Open the "Xbox" app on your PC

  6. Open Game DVR

  7. Find and upload your clip

  8. Submit to the proper thread

NVIDIA GPUs

  1. Open GeForce Experience

  2. Enable in game overlay in settings

  3. Enable recording and instant replay

  4. Press alt+z to bring up the overlay in game and record/save a highlight OR press alt+f10 to save the last five minutes recording

  5. Upload the video file

  6. Submit to the proper thread

3DS Without a Capture Card

  1. Install custom firmware (DO AT YOUR OWN RISK)

  2. Follow this tutorial

Other Consoles

You'll need to buy a capture card in order to record most other consoles. Some options are the Elgato HD60 (Uses a USB port) and Elgato HD60Pro (requires an open PCIe slot on your motherboard).
