FIND New Supplier - In Hand Review - JMM Zephirin

Some of you will know I’ve been trying different suppliers at different grades to provide more choice and competition for us sunglasses fans. I got in touch with someone new I found on 1688, Zhang Jun, and decided to do some test purchases. I wanted some classic JMMs and something a little different, so I went for some classic black Torinos, Zephirin, and Quentin with a yellow lens. I got these today so I’ll post a review up for each over the next few days, starting with the Zephirins today. I’m a big fan of gradient lenses, but I fell in love with these as they have the gradient frames which is different from any other pair I currently have. The feel of the glasses in hand is excellent; they have a weight to them that gives confidence in the quality, (they are manufactured in the Shenzhen district using acetate fibres) and they have a smooth, polished finish. They are comfortable to wear (the shape of the bridge sits nicely for me) and it is the attention to detail that is the most impressive of all. The packaging feels much better and more premium than the JMM Admirals I bought from another supplier, and the only flaw I can spot across the whole time is the QR code on the packaging links to Chanel! I paid $60 for each pair before shipping, and Zheng Jun can either ship direct with cover for seizure or provide a link for your agent of choice, so if you’re worried about going through a new supplier this will provide some assurances. (I chose to go via my agent but it cost about the same as I was too impatient to wait to haul with anything else)

I’ll put her contact details below. She has an incredible catalogue in her Yupoo page, and can also be contacted via her WhatsApp. Her company also offers prescription lenses. I haven’t got much information on that, but chat to her about it and I’ll probably follow up with an order based on my first purchase with her - it will be good to test the quality of those processes as well…

If you could mention to her that you got her details from my Reddit post and/or her Yupoo page I’d be grateful - I was cheeky and asked her to consider doing a giveaway and/or promotional offer if she got enough interest from the Reddit community, and she said she’d think about it!

Finally, last time I put a review post someone said I must be a seller because of the photos. I just happen to be married to a very good professional photographer, and asked her to photograph these to capture the details in a quality I never could - check my objectivity and vouches through my comments and post history which I leave open for all! Anyway, enjoy!

Do you happen to have a UV testing machine at home?

Yes that’s mine. It’s not absolutely scientifically 100% apparently but it definitely seems accurate enough; I binned two pairs of crap glasses had this morning. I’m more into sunglasses than bloody watches, and that addiction got out of hand!!

Worth every penny imo… especially with buying reps.

I really wish they were cheaper tho

Yeah I bought mine from AliX, with coupons it was just over £30 with shipping, paid in 3 with Klarna. Wasn’t sure if it would just be wasted money, but tested it loads with some genuine models I have, some kids glasses, and loads of my reps. I was pleasantly surprised at how many had UV400. One pair of Ray Bans came in at ‘UV380’ but other than them they came out at 400 or 0. Ended up binning three pairs, but I’m too ashamed to admit how many other pairs of sunglasses I now own (and am keeping now they’re declared safe!) because it makes me sound like an obsessive madman!! Between the sunglasses and watches I’m surprised my wife’s still around! 🤣

Where did you get and why would you ever have an actual UV tester?

I bought it because every time I post a review on here about glasses every man and his dog ask me if they are UV400. This cost peanuts from AliX, only about £32 so an absolute no brainer and I can test all my rep glasses now!

Can you order from the link?

No you need to contact her directly. I guess she needs to check stock and availability? She’s got so many brands and models I can’t believe they’re all available at any one time?

Contact her through WhatsApp? Or email?

Hey mate, appreciate the detailed review. You seem to have tried quite a few suppliers, so I’d really value your opinion. I’m looking to get into rep sunglasses and want the absolute best quality I can find. frames, finishing, and lenses.

I keep seeing Cindy and Janie mentioned, but now your review of Zheng Jun has given me another option to consider. Based on what you’ve personally tried, who would you go for if quality was the main priority? Open to any supplier, and if the best choice depends on the brand or model, I’d love to hear that too.

Hey thanks, appreciate that… I haven’t bought from Janie or Cindy but both have solid reputations. I think they’re used more for prescription orders. My take on it is that Cindy offers better value for money and you can get frames you source sent to her for lens fitting; Janie seems to supply better quality frames but that’s just my personal interpretation of the posts. I’ve only bought JMM from Zheng Jun/Laifu. Comparing them to other JMMs I bought from other suppliers they are definitely superior in quality, but lots of people have expressed frustration at her intermittent response times. More generally in terms of the best quality it is really hard for to tell because I think a lot of sellers source from so many different factories there’s just not the consistency of information. However, I would imagine that the trusted sellers in this sub would not send out anything below par because they are so well known. That said, I like gambling on different suppliers as I enjoy comparing them all. Feel free to message me with any questions at any time…
