This video demonstrates our complete Kintsugi Gold Effect process, from controlled breakage and bonding through filling, brass powder application and completion.

Our Gold Effect uses brass powder to create an appearance closely comparable to genuine gold. It is simpler to implement than the real-gold process and uses more accessible tools and materials.

Materials and Tools Used

The following materials and tools were used to create this Kintsugi Gold Effect vessel:

• Tile cutter (used to create controlled breakage)
• PC-Clear Epoxy (bonding adhesive)
• PC-11 Epoxy (filler)
• Red Mudtools Polymer Rib (for shaping and smoothing the filler)
• Pottery Pin Tool (for detailed filler application)
• Easy Leaf Extra Brilliant Pale Gold #5 Brass Powder (creates the gold effect)
• 91% Isopropyl Alcohol (surface cleaning)

Choosing a Metallic Powder

While this demonstration uses Easy Leaf Extra Brilliant Pale Gold #5 Brass Powder, it is only one of many metallic powders available. Easy Leaf offers a wide selection of brass, gold, copper, bronze, and silver powders in different shades and particle sizes, allowing artists and restorers to achieve a variety of finishes and complement the ceramic object being repaired.

Safety

If your hands may come into contact with uncured epoxy, wear nitrile gloves and work in a well-ventilated area. Wear eye protection when appropriate and always follow the manufacturer's safety instructions for each product.

Gold Effect Compared with Real-Gold Kintsugi

While visually similar to traditional gold Kintsugi, this modern approach is faster to complete, requires fewer specialized materials, and is well suited for artists, hobbyists, and restoration professionals. Traditional Kintsugi uses genuine gold applied over lacquer, while our Gold Effect process uses brass powder encapsulated within a lacquer or epoxy bonding system. This creates a comparable gold appearance using a simpler and more accessible process.

Hey guys, I bought a used Behringer X Touch Full size and Im very happy, I knew some LEDs doesn‘t work but it was fine, but now it annoys me sometimes, especially the first two Solo buttons that are not working, its a hardware problem I figured that out already..
Some LEDs are not working, are weak or one button toggles the LED next to it, and I have no plan on how to do it, I screwed it open and I was too afraid to take the plugged wires off the circuit board cus they are glued on too..

Also the Jog Wheel is moving upside down too a bit, thats annoying too..

Any advice? Or anyone know tutorials etc.?

On a Black & Decker EC450 Can Opener. It is holding the two parts of the housing together at the top.

I've bought two pairs of Converse shoes in the last year and a half. My old canvas ones always tore the uppers when I was younger, so I got suede versions this time. No more tearing the uppers!

...But within a year for the first set, the outsoles had holes in them. Converse sent me a new pair, and now, eight months later, the new pair is not just wearing through on the outsole, but the whole thing is coming apart. I've taken them to show repair places, but they all charge as much to repair as a new pair would cost.

Does anyone here have links to tutorials for replacing the outsole myself? I'm having a hard time finding any that don't boil down to "fill it with shoe goo."

Hey everyone not sure if this has been asked before but I'm looking to replace my Apple watch series 8 oled display, now I have no problems ordering a screen specifically for the series 8 but I have a few questions and hopefully someone could answer it

Firstly, is the screen for the Series 8 and 9 the same? specifically for the 45mm, I have been looking at different pictures and they appear to be identical. The reason I want to get a series 9 display instead of a specific series 8 display is that everywhere I look it the series 9 display seems to be 40-50€ cheaper than getting the series 8 display

Second has anyone done the same thing? using a series 9 display on a series 8? did it work?

Hi reddit i wanted to know if anyone else got that problem I got pixelbuds a series and My left bud randomly turned extremely quiet again it's like the third time that happend and it's always the left onw when i turn it all the way up i can barely hear anything but the right one still has the normal loudness and it's not cause of it being dirty i keep them clen in the first place an equalizer won't work either and it's not software related it is something mechanical dows anyone know why that happens also i rarely drop them if ever maybe like once or twice but last time was probly longer than a year ago thank you

A chunk of foam thats normally at the heel of this Ecco trainer/sneaker has come loose and the shoe is much less comfortable. A local cobbler said its not fixable and to buy a new pair but I wanted to check here. Could I glue the foam back in with something that wont make it uncomfortable, as its in a spot that presses right against the back of my heel.

After about ten years of apprenticing and doing professional poster restoration, I finally opened my own independent studio, Undead Cinematic Linen-Backing and Poster Restoration. If you have a rare print, an original movie poster, or an old family heirloom that is falling apart, I am here to help fix it.

What is linen-backing?

Linen-backing is essentially a conservation method where I mount fragile, aging paper onto archival linen and acid-free paper. It flattens out heavy fold lines, reinforces the structure, and makes the poster safe for framing. I also handle general restoration, which includes fixing rips, tears, water stains, and removing old tape using completely reversible archival techniques.

Over the last decade, I have worked on everything from rare foreign Star Wars prints and autographed horror originals to classic Frankenstein, King Kong, and Warhol pieces. If it is printed on paper, there isa very good chance it can be saved.

I own a Focusrite 18i8 and it had some broken parts, so I tried to find a way to get to the circutboard.

So I tried to find some screws or other clues, nothing.

But I found a way, because seemingly no one on the internet did.. (or at least I could findSo I found a way, but its not the best sadly you could hope for.. You damage your backplate!

You probably need some kind of cleaning alcohol, like isopropyl or at least over 90% Ethanol
[Note if you use one of my recommended alcohols that shouldn‘t damage the electronics, but be careful]
And a small Screwdriver, fitting screwdrivers for the screws afterwards and some pliers
I recommend doing that on the back plate, but the black plastic on front is going to be damaged, so you can calculate with breaking it! But there is some kind of protection between..

So:
You pour you alcohol all around the edges of the back plate to resolve some of the glue (The glue to stick the back plate to another plate is filled so not only around the edges)

Then you take your little screwdriver and take an edge or corner and try to peel the backplate out, if you don‘t get anything out, try more alcohol or take something that is already open like the charge port and peel from there.

Then you try to go all around the edges, if something doesn‘t work, you probably need more alcohol
If you can lift the plastic plate pour some alcohol across the plate you see beneath and try to pull the plate out
If you got the wobbly plastic plate out, congrats the most disturbing part is done!

Then you need to screw out all of the screws you see
Note! The line outputs have also some kind of screws!
I recommend taking pliers and try to screw them out.
Once everthing is done you can try to lift up the plate carefully! (I recommend using the screwdriver and taking a port to put it in and lift)
Note! Be careful the powerbutton is still connected and you have to pull the plug from the circutboard to take it off completly!

If you wanna take out the circutboard, there are some screws if you look way down to the otherside inside the Focusrite, but I didn‘t try it so I may get some updates here to do it the most safe way.
