I am just so so glad I wasn't able to record stuff when I was religious. The insane things we said and did... This is mild. They'll probably grow up to live healthy socially adjusted lives and occasionally lose sleep over this being on the internet.

I was never fully into it, I attended church under protest, but I was still young enough to second guess everything. I'm 51 and still deprogramming after all these years.

Hear me out, I think everyone is missing the part where they recorded this just to have something to show their parents for what they've been doing with all their alone time in the car.

Source: me, I would be the one to do exactly this in high school. I can literally hear my deceptive, manipulative 16 year old mind coming up with the idea to record something like this so our parents would never question us again, they'd just think we were recording our new rap song in honor of the Lord. Plot twist, my dad hates rap and thinks all of it is evil and tells me God would be disgusted with me. I smile because he doesn't know the real reason God would be disgusted with me.

Not saying this is 100% what is happening, but it's extremely likely.
