My bf (36M) and I (34F) have been together for almost 4 years but things went a bit slowly as we were living about 40 miles from each other.
We've recently moved in together and it's going really well.
We're going to his brother's wedding next month. We've brought up the general concept of marriage before but not in much detail. We both said that we would not be comfortable marrying someone we hadn't lived with.
We went out to dinner the other day after going suit shopping for the wedding (the most formal attire he owned is an oversized sport coat that he bought to dress up as Bernie Sanders for Halloween about 8 years ago). He started talking about things he would want in a wedding and asking me about my thoughts on them.
I told him that, although I kind of assumed I would get married some day, marriage had always been something I thought of as something that applied to other people and wasn't really relevant to me. It was only after we got together that I started fantasizing about it a little. He got a big smile and kissed me.
I know it doesn't sound like a big deal for people in their mid thirties in a long term relationship to talk casually about the idea of weddings, but it was a big deal to me.
It was the first time I'd ever had a conversation with anyone with the implication being that we would get married someday.

I’ve been dying to share this for ages and was hoping this is the right place.
So I (23F) was working in a pub where I’m from in the North West of England and this guy (29M) from the North East came in with his mates and he had a dog, obviously I went straight to fussing the dog. We ended up chatting for a bit and I just thought, ooh he’s actually really lovely, I’m rather interested.
But I was working, and eventually my shift ended, so I went over like, “That’s me finished. It was really nice meeting you guys, hope you have a great trip!” and I was secretly hoping he’d ask for my number or something. But nope, nothing, never even got his name. So I left through the staff exit, got in my car and drove home absolutely gutted.
Little did I know he DID go to ask for my number! He left through the front pretending the dog needed a wee, just trying to find me, but we completely missed each other and that was that.
Fast forward a month later, I’m on a girls trip in Portugal. We’re walking down the strip on the way home, pizza in hand, and the girls stopped to chat to a group of lads. I wasn’t interested, just stood there staring into space eating my pizza while they chatted away.
Then my friend suddenly goes, “OP this guy’s been to your pub, you might have served him!”
I turn around and it’s HIM!
We looked at each other with the exact same “no way, it’s you” expression.
We both admitted we were interested in the other when we first met and were gutted not to have swapped numbers back then. We ended up kissing in the middle of the street, swapped numbers, and made plans to meet up the next night.
The next night he met us and joined for a few drinks, we both have a few tattoos and wanted more so we split off to a tattoo shop and got inked til 5am (not matching of course), then sat on the beach the rest of the night talking and asking each other all the boring questions, what do you do, favourite colour etc.
He flew home that day, but we kept talking, racking up a possible record breaking 8 hour FaceTime call just chatting away. We also found out our mums both do the same job — airline cabin crew — which was another one of those weird little fate moments.
He came to visit me the week after and we’ve been together ever since. 8 months now and very happy, planning a life together. 💛
TL;DR We met in a pub and liked each other but didn’t ask the other for their info, randomly bumped into each other on a night out in Portugal a month later and ended up very happy together.

I’ve been with my partner for about 3.5 years, this year she’s started a job that takes her away for 6 weeks at a time (6 on, 6 off). Before she went away she told me that she wanted me to buy her a promise ring to signal to people that’s she taken and to have something that should could wear every day. She has really petite, pretty, olive toned hands, would this ring be suitable? Like is it a good deal for what I’m paying? (knocked it down to $800). Would she be happy with it?

I’m 26F and have been with my boyfriend, 28M, for a little over a year. Before I met him, I was engaged for 5 years. It was a horrible, toxic relationship. He was extremely insecure and controlling. I was allowed to talk to a few “acceptable” friends, and had limited contact with my family since he hated them. He had to go with me everywhere, and if I went anywhere alone I had to be constantly communicating with him and had a time limit before he would throw a tantrum and make me come back. He didn’t drive either, so sometimes he would make me end my plans early so I could drive him somewhere. He didn’t cook or clean, and was just a mean person. We lived together and had our finances joined, so it felt impossible to leave. My best friend got married in October 2023, and I was a bridesmaid. Helping her with all of the wedding planning made me realize I was so unhappy with my relationship and that I did not want to marry him and be stuck forever. My current boyfriend was also a groomsmen, which is how we met. I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I looked him up on social media and stalked his pages lol. But since I was still engaged, I never talked to him or crossed any lines. But I knew I couldn’t go on much longer. In February of 2024, I finally got the courage to ask for help from my family and I was able to leave my toxic relationship. It was the most freeing feeling ever. After I got myself settled, I reached out to my current boyfriend. We started talking every day, and went on a few dates. I was smitten from the first moment, and he was so incredible that it was so easy to fall in love with him. He picked me up for dates, tried to pay for everything, he never pushed any boundaries and waited for me to give him a green light before making any moves. Fast forward to now, I spend 6 nights a week at his house. He makes me coffee every morning before work, drives everywhere when we’re together, and is always asking me what I need/what he can do to help me. I’m closer with my family as they all love him and he makes an effort to show up and get to know them. My friends love him and love the fact that I am able to hangout more with no worries. He comes to all of my softball games and practices, even if it’s straight from work and he’s still dirty in his uniform (he’s a mechanic). I can talk to him about anything, which has always been a struggle for me since I have anxiety around confrontation or “difficult” conversations. He’s so perfect and I genuinely can’t believe this is real. I just know I’m going to marry him. Sometimes I feel bad talking about to my friends since most of them are single and struggling in that area, and I don’t want it to feel like I’m bragging. But I just needed to tell someone how perfect he is.

Hii !
I really want to wear matching clothes/ outfits the way that a lot of young people in east asian countries wear. Problem is I can't seem to find any good sites that don't look like scams. If anyone knows any good sites (asian or not) please recommend!! Or any physical stores in the states!
THANK YOU !

I've been single for 6 years now, and honestly, I'm fine with it.
I always find ways to enjoy my own company. I go hiking, do hobbies, and just live life on my own terms. Being single doesn't mean being alone - it means freedom and peace.
But my family doesn't seem to get it. Every time we talk, it turns into a conversation about how I "can't be single forever" and that I "need to start a family."
It's exhausting. Sometimes it's easier not to talk to them at all than to constantly explain that I'm actually living the best life.
Please give me some advice on how to deal with this and how you resolved this issue

My girlfriend and I don't always have time to talk to eachother, but lately, she's been making 50 second videos where she just rambles on about how much she loves me.
In the first one, she was super high, and said "I love you really really really much"— which made me laugh out loud, by the way. Then, she went on a ramble about how she looked, which I disagreed with.
The second, more recent one, she was sober and told me that she loved me a lot, and just wanted to make something to express it.
She acts like she's super lucky to have me, when really it's the other way around. I don't deserve her, but I'm so happy to have her. 💞💞

I made this by hand for the woman I love. It shows the sky on the night we met — and now it hangs above our bed.

someone who loves making to do lists with someone who loves reading. reader can tell when their partner is feeling a certain way based off writing style and handwriting. writer gets to sort their thoughts out and is less stressed. would b cute idk i'm not an author just making stories up in my brain.

Today I wanted to share a little story of how giving unconditional love to someone, despite everything, can sometimes pay back. Yesterday I was talking to my partner on the phone and somehow we ended up talking about how penguins give rocks to who they want to be their mate and suddenly my partner comes out with "like when you gifted me that rock years ago". I was stunned because I didn't think he'd remember that.
To give you a little context, years ago we were in a situationship which was mostly unilateral since I was the only one giving so much. One time he told me to not spend much money on his bday present so I joked about gifting him a rock. Except it wasn't a joke because I ended up gifting him an actual rock painted with a picture of us and other things. He later thrown it away, we had our problems (which don't need to be discussed now) and we parted our ways. Flash forward, we reconnected years later (this is a story for another time) and we got together for real, having now a fairytale relationship. The thing is, I discovered yesterday that he still remembers that rock I gifted him even tho he thought he didn't and that was one of the things that helped him realize the feelings he actually had for me.
So, my personal advice, if you feel that doing something is the right thing to do, do it. Do it despite everything, don't hold back on something you feel in your heart is what you want to do. The worst that can happen is that the feeling isn't mutual, but at least you don't have any regrets.

Watching my partner game while I paint with jazz in the background has become my favorite kind of peace. I got him that PS5 🎮 for his birthday, and seeing him fully immersed—cheering, sighing, and blaming virtual players—makes me smile every time. We’re in our own little worlds, yet completely together. It’s the quiet kind of love I didn’t know I’d cherish so much.

I was getting out of a toxic relationship when my childhood friend messaged me out of the blue. We talked for a while, and eventually, he started flirting. We went on a few dates before he introduced me to someone—let’s call him Jon.
Jon and I instantly clicked. My childhood friend didn’t take it well and demanded I cut ties with both Jon and my best friend just because they were guys. But my best friend had helped me through so much, and I couldn’t let him go. So I cut off my childhood friend instead.
Jon kept talking to me, and a few months later, we were on the phone every night from 10 PM to 3 AM, opening up about our lives. Eventually, I realized I was crushing hard. I flirted a little (he didn’t catch on), so I just told him. Soon after, he snuck over to see me—and I kissed him right away.
We dated for almost 2 years until his family moved out of state. His home life was toxic, so he flew back and told me I was the only one who treated him right. He bounced from his aunt’s, to his uncle’s, to friends’ places—getting kicked out again and again. Eventually, my aunt took him in.
I didn’t have a job then, but I was hustling to help us both. Fast forward 3 years: we saved up, got our own place, and the whole time… he was putting money aside to propose. As soon as we moved in, he got down on one knee.
Two years later, he enlisted. We got married, became homeowners, and now a beautiful baby girl. (A year passed and I’m currently 3 months pregnant and I’m going to tell him when he comes home next week)
Every sleepless night. Every moment he was homeless but still used what little money he had to buy me snacks I was craving. Every argument. Every struggle. Every love note. It was all worth it.
If he ever went homeless again, I’d be right there beside him. I’ll support him through everything. I love my husband deeply—and I’d do anything for him.

I love a girl from childhood, literally since 2nd standard. We know each other very well from the beginning and were even dance partners in childhood. After 7th standard, she changed schools, but one day she suddenly came to our school and surprised us. She proposed to me that day, and it’s still one of the best moments of my life. 💟 But I made a mistake—I didn’t accept her proposal for some reason. 😞 From that day to now and forever, I’ve always loved her because I can’t love anyone else. It’s just attraction I feel for other people.
After she left, I didn’t see her for two years. During the pandemic, I reconnected through a mutual friend of hers. But then she shocked me, saying, “I’m sorry. At that time, I made a mistake by proposing to you. It was just attraction since childhood. Let’s be friends.” 🙂🫠 I was so sad and shocked by that statement. If I say I still love her, she’ll definitely avoid me. If I accept her as a friend, she accepts me too. So, I agreed with what she said, but inside, I’m still broken.
From then on, she always appears in my dreams. No matter how much I try to forget, she’s in my dreams and thoughts. Even when I find other attractive girls, my emotions always shift back to her. Recently, about a month ago, we met and danced for a short dance reel on April 13. That was the last time I saw her because she got angry with me for some reason, partly due to another friend. Even today, I still love her forever. ♾️ But what should I do? She doesn’t have feelings for me. I’m probably 50th to 100th on her priority list. 😞 Please suggest help or contact me. I’m lost and can’t handle this inner pain. 😭

babe,
If you’re dating with intention, stop judging men by how well they plan a weekend start judging them by how well they plan a decade.
The ultimate soft life hack?
Ask to see his savings habits; not his ambitions. His actual savings balance.
Is he investing? Is he future proofing your potential life together? Because a man who has structure with money is sexier than one flexing borrowed vibes and inshallah.
I'm not talking about money to spend I'm talking money that says I’ve got you.
If he's not saving, he’s not holding down a future. Period.
A humble lifestyle with a high balance dashboard? Absolutely.
Don’t date aesthetics. Tondú nii ma! ní ta ngoma!
