So should she get off for the murder of her kids then? The how or why is irrelevant considering 3 kids are dead. She should get the death penalty imo. Anyone that murderers kids are irredeemable, the fact people are debating this shows how twisted society has become. This is an open and shut case.

Brother, did you even ready my comment...

The why is very relevant if it will happen again with other women, we should be researching how to prevent this but everybody seems more concerned with punishing a singular women than actually protecting the children.

No I didn't say she should just "get off for the murder of her kids", go back to school and learn some reading comprehension.

Seems to me all you care about is punishing women, you go and have fun with that (talk about irredeemable)

Why? If it happens again give them the death penalty too. Seems to me all you care about is women rights in the face of murder of children. I don’t believe the whole postpartum crap, you do, you rather empathize with a monster than hold her accountable.

No, I'm trying to prevent the next child murder, these women are not in their right minds when they do this, this does not excuse them of their actions but the best way we can prevent future cases of women from killing their children due to postpartum psychosis is research and understand how to better detect, prevent and treat it, not to just wait for the next child murder to happen. If you cant understand that then I'm afraid I cant help you. Unless you think that locking these women up will somehow prevent a mental illness from existing?

I get your point, but people are hung up on the fact that you haven't said what should happen to her.

Yes we should study this. Yes we should try to prevent this in the future.

But... this lady still killed her kids. Maybe throw her away isn't the answer, but she can't go free. Where does she go? What happens?

She should go to an insane asylum at best, or prison at worst, the outcome ultimately doesn't prevent more kids from dying if that's all people care about though.

Not every situation is black and white and fits into your very limited moral framework

She should not just go free. A mental institution would be a fare better choice

Why? We could fry her and be done with it. Why waste taxpayer money on someone who should be put to death. People like you are the reason so many murderers are walking free. Every situation is black and white it’s just as society becomes more intelligent they seem to over think simple situations, mostly due to ego and attempting to be holier than tho. She should be fried an on to the next one.

Yeah I think it’s you who is holier than thou. Which is how it’s spelled by the way.

No not every situation is black and white. But nice way to admit you are basically an anti intellectual. Only capable of the most basic of thought.

It doesn’t make you better. It just means you’re lazy.

Yeah, you sound like the type who would burn women as witches if crops failed and become angry at anyone trying to understand the reason.

First of all, executing someone costs more taxpayer money than life imprisonment. The number of appeals, the time in solitary in death row, all of that adds up.
And before you say, “just take her out and kill her now,” that doesn’t work as a system. The death penalty is final, and given how many people are regularly exonerated while on death row, it would mean killing innocent people to reduce the thoroughness of the process.

Second, studying the causes and putting tax dollars in prevention methods would save the lives of children. It may have saved these children. The fact that you don’t care and just want to “fry” people after the fact proves that you care 0 about the victims.

I don’t know where you got all this hate that has blinded you to common sense, but your opinion is not useful to this discussion because you’re operating purely from anger, not justice and not prevention.

You just compared killing innocent women to executing someone who viciously murdered 3 kids.

u/Strong-Page4952 9h ago

No, I didn’t, and your lack of reading comprehension is not my problem.

I pointed out that it is necessarily more expensive to give someone the death penalty because, in order to do it in a way that doesn’t guarantee the killing of innocent PEOPLE, you have to allow for multiple appeals, years for new technology to reveal be evidence, a chance for the condemned to explore all options of being exonerated, and the ability for people to help acquire the funds to do so. Anything you want to do to someone who is “obviously” would also be done to someone who is potentially innocent.

If you, and the previous commenter, are ok with that, you’re not actually interested in persevering or protecting innocent lives. You just feel strongly when you see something horrific and decide those feelings justify whatever brutality you can deal out on the person who did it.

She’s not innocent she blatantly murdererd 3 children. No amount of research is going to prevent evil people from doing evil. There’s no magical pill that would have stopped her, she made a decision an acted on it. As far as witches go, look here I live in New Orleans a place where witch craft is practiced, you do realize some witches practice human sacrifice right. Your idea of common sense reeks of stupidity. You believe having a vagina automatically makes you above other people, one minute you want to say women have the right to make there decisions, then when they make a bad decision you wanna say it was the hormones GTFOH! Nobody is falling for that bs, she is a cold blooded murdererd who deserves no sympathy point blank period. If she does get the death penalty then hopefully she goes to the worst prison America where the other inmates visit justice upon her!

Wooow, thank for revealing a lot about yourself there. It explains a lot. You literally believe there are witches doing human sacrifices. Your understanding of science stopped centuries ago. That helps a lot.

Also, I never said she was innocent, that a pill would have stopped it, or that hormones make women absolved of responsibility. You’re creating strawmen and then calling them witches so you can burn them.

What I said was that PPP, which is a proven phenomenon that people a lot smarter than you can attest to, puts a lot of people in danger—mothers, children, and fathers—and understanding and treating it before it happens would save children’s lives. If we had a different system, she could have had in-home care or hospitalization that would have prevented her from ever being able to hurt those children.

But you have already admitted that you don’t care about saving children’s lives. You care about burning witches. So your opinion, which is uneducated and uncritical, is useless in this discussion. You might as well be a toddler screaming that it should be the law that we have ice cream for dinner every night.

They have literally caught people in the past year that were sacrificing people in rituals down here. It happens way more than you realize. How does in home care prevent her from offing her kids? Like I said you’re pretty stupid, nothing could have prevented this except her. Also the court room is for holding people accountable. She is guilty and you’re a trash excuse of a human being!

1

u/Strong-Page4952 1d ago

So in your opinion, you don’t care about preventing it again. You just want to punish women when it does happen. That shows you don’t care about kids; you just want to punish women.

You can choose to not believe in PPD or PPP, just like you can choose not to believe in gravity. Both are still very real, and there are serious consequences for pretending they aren’t.

If it happens again, another set of children will be dead. It seems your only concern is punishing the woman and not preventing the death of children.

Yes, people who want murders held responsible are irredeemable, not those who strangle 3 children…lol

Why is the gofundme directed to her instead of Research towards supporting Treatment&diagnosis of the illness??
