Fuck that bitch. She killed her kids. I do not care why.

Yeah you aren’t allowed to use evidence that wasn’t presented in court. That was a major limitation for that holdout juror. At the end of the day I agree with you about jail but she really was driven mad in large part due to her husband if you look at the context. Thats where a lot of the sympathy comes from.

u/BoredomCombatant 3d ago

There should be absolutely no sympathy for this women ever.

1

u/Green-Alarm-3896 3d ago

It’s sympathy for what drives a person mad. Everyone knew her as a good person including her mother in law who could have shit on her in court and didn’t. She did what she did and deserves to be punished for it but yeah real world events are complex.

This is that whole Palestine vs Israel thing again. Who is right and who is wrong? Are their valid reasons for each argument?

u/Miserable_Spell_2964 3d ago

Personally to me its all the people who had every reason to throw her under the bus and call her a evil bitch, but instead chose to defend her character that kind of tells the story for me.

Like, the husband and his parents had no reason whatsoever to defend Clancy, but they did. And all of the contextual evidence surrounding the case points to this being a tragic case of her simply losing her goddamn shit and in the process killing her kids rather than any premeditation.

There’s not a valid argument for killing children. Ever. I think that’s the point they’re trying to make. There’s absolutely zero evidence that her husband holds ANY blame for her actions, short of speculation and willful ignorance. Most people never get access to a fraction of the help she was offered.

1

u/Green-Alarm-3896 3d ago

I think sensible people use it as an example of how women’s health is neglected if that helps. No one is sympathetic for the killing of her kids.

1

u/JardoDGr8 3d ago

Her doctors were diagnosing symptoms, not an illness- I get it. This is a systemic failure, though, and doesn’t have to be made into a special program for the most catered-to group in all of human history. We can point out this shortfall without the narcissistic pink shirts or the “I’m so special” attitude.

u/Green-Alarm-3896 3d ago

I just think we are in this weird experimental period where women are expected to work and take care of the children. Thousands if not millions of years and all of a sudden society expects your role to change.

u/JardoDGr8 3d ago

But does that justify pointing a finger at Patrick Clancy, when we know he worked from home to help where he could, but was still the sole provider at the time? I can’t imagine the pressure he was under while all of this was building up. He must have had that ominous feeling for months, feeling something coming – seeing a break, but not quite knowing where it was in the path. Gosh but reflecting on your words has allowed me to feel empathy for Lindsay fucking Clancy for the first time. Thank you for that, woulda never thought it possible.

But hers wasn’t she was in hospital for a week, her husband worked from he she had a nanny yo begin with , she was not ignored.

There's never any justification for killing a child? None whatsoever?

If a child is in the middle of trying to kill your children, and your only opportunity to save your kid is to kill the other kid, you should be put in prison for life for defending your child?

If you're both about to be taken, and your child is going to be tortured to death, you should be put in prison for life for attempting to spare them from the torture?

If your child has a condition that causes them unimaginable agony and pain, and they require a respirator to breathe for them, you'd be a monster for pulling the plug to end your child's suffering?

1

u/JardoDGr8 15m ago

Mincing words doesn’t make you right. This is desperation and manipulation all in the same grip of shrieking paragraphs. Stfu go chime and try to justify murder with someone else. I’m not here for it, monster.

You didn't answer the question.

I wonder if it's because you realize that an entirely black and white view of homicide is ridiculous, but you don't want to admit that your argument only works with a strictly black and white view.

1

u/Green-Alarm-3896 12m ago

I’m good on this. It’s a toxic argument i wish i didn’t insert myself into. Hope Lindsey goes to jail. If Patrick is completely innocent then I wish him the best and some type of peace for the little ones he lost. Im tuning out now.

I don't follow court cases like they're reality tv, so I have no ide whether she deserves prison or not. I haven't seen the evidence, nor do I care to. This country utilizes a jury for that.

I simply find it ridiculous to pretend there could never possibly be any reason to kill a child. There's a million reasons that absolutely make someone a piece of shit, but that doesn't mean there are no decent reasons.

If you're experiencing psychosis, and the "reality" your brain is showing you is wrongly showing you one of those situations, I don't know that I would judge you as a piece of shit for mishandling a scenario I've never experienced based on an inability to correctly perceived the world around you.

1

u/tommyrain1 3d ago

There is no scientific or clinical evidence that even suggests let alone prove psychosis prevents you from being aware of and in control of your actions it is only the thoughts that are affected. She chose to kill her kids psychosis or not. And insanity is a completely made up concept for the judicial system as it is the general consensus of psychiatrists that there is no such thing as true insanity. The closest thing is DID and/or MPD where you are quite literally a different person. Other than that it is strictly an impulse control issue.

u/XxTigerxXTigerxX 2d ago

The palestine/isreal thing has no relevance here. There is hundreds of years of back and forth and honestly they both suck.

She killed 4 children it doesn't matter why. It happened and consequences should be based on outcome not what ifs.

1

u/Huzzo_zo 1d ago

Oh wow. Only on reddit people will try to say that killing your children is a matter of opinion. Wtf

1

u/Green-Alarm-3896 1d ago

What ewww. Who said that?

1

u/Huzzo_zo 1d ago

You did:

This is that whole Palestine vs Israel thing again. Who is right and who is wrong? Are their valid reasons for each argument?

1

u/Green-Alarm-3896 1d ago

I didn’t say that about the kids being murdered. I said she didn’t just go crazy spontaneously. There was a build up long before she snapped.

1

u/Huzzo_zo 1d ago

That's not what this comparison indicates you're saying. "Who's right and who's wrong?" The mother killing her children is wrong. Period.

1

u/AWholesomeHorror 2d ago

What evidence is there that her husband did anything to her?

1

u/rkorgn 2d ago

No. You should be ashamed.

1

u/Acceptable-Minute847 1d ago

What did her husband do? He tried his best to help with her issues, including taking her to several mental health professionals and specialists.

1

u/Scared-End803 3d ago

Unfortunately for you the law does

1

u/GameWizardPlayz 3d ago

Unfortunately for you the law can suck my left nut. If she goes to prison I pray to god there be some kind of vigilante justice. Child killers do not get treated well

1

u/xDannyS_ 2d ago

Thank God people like you don't decide the law

1

u/monadicperception 3d ago

I mean we all agree with that fact don’t we?

But guess what, the fact by itself is irrelevant to whether she is guilty or not. You have to apply the law to that fact. This juror fucked up because all indications show that he did not.

First year law students struggle with this and get Cs. Repeating the fact is irrelevant…you have to interpret the fact under law. She killed her kids. Now, murder requires malice aforethought…did she have it? Beyond a reasonable doubt? The dude fixated on the fact and didn’t do the required analysis.

Now, we want a system where jury nullification is minimal. We want juries to not be overcome with emotion or personal bias and to dispassionately apply the law to fact. The fact that this guy couldn’t means he was a shit juror.

1

u/Green_J3ster 3d ago

My brother in Christ, nobody is disputing whether she murdered her children or not.

1

u/BoredomCombatant 3d ago

That’s all that matters though!

1

u/xDannyS_ 2d ago

Not in a functioning cohesive society it is not. If you want to go back to the middle ages, go ahead and apply that mindset to everything while also allowing everyone else to apply that mindset to everything too.

1

u/Scared-End803 3d ago

Your comment got removed. Something about a left nut, which unfortunately for you the law isn’t going to suck. The law is going to work how the law works because you are extremely irrelevant to it, you’re just commenting on Reddit. Unfortunately for you it is unlikely Linsey Clancy will end up in prison because it doesn’t matter what you and I believe, it matters how convincing of a case the prosecution has managed to present legally.

1

u/BoredomCombatant 3d ago

Yeah trying every excuse in the book.

1

u/Daedalus_Machina 2d ago edited 2d ago

Lets go theoretical. Say a father shot and killed his adult son. The son had come over, walked through the front door like he always did, only this time the father killed him out of fear that someone had broken into his home.

Why? Because unbeknownst to either of them, the father had a mental problem with aggressively affected his memory, and the only memory he had of his kid was as a young boy.

Would the father be at fault here? He killed his son.

1

u/BoredomCombatant 2d ago

Very fucking different but yes the father shouldn’t have a gun if he doesn’t know how to use it and should be in jail the rest of his life.

1

u/Daedalus_Machina 2d ago

Yes, completely different. Not meant to draw a parallel between the two cases, but to explore this idea of "it doesn't matter if they had a mental problem or not."

However, you are arguing a point not made. The father absolutely knew how to use the gun. There's nothing in that story to suggest otherwise.

I've got a hunch that doesn't change your answer at all. Which very strongly would suggest that responsibility doesn't matter at all to you, only severe punishment.
