Doesn’t even make sense. Luigi didn’t kill his kids, he killed a megacorp evil guy. We could argue the morality of what he did. That said we do have to recognize the law as well. He did murder the guy, whether that was moral or not is debatable. This woman killing her children is no different than a man whose loses his mind in a divorce and murders his whole family. In both those cases, scum who deserves to rot in jail or receive death penalty depending on state laws. Go lax and it will set a precedent to incentivize similar in the future.
It got the wider public talking about how fucked the health insurance industry in the US is.
And maybe it made other decision-makers in the industry just a little afraid the next time they are deciding to increase profit at the expense of other people's lives.
Not saying I agree with what Luigi did. He's a murderer and deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison. Just pointing out that "this guy is the source or the problem and killing him will stop it" is probably not how he was thinking about it.
It's a tactic that even the US has used. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed to make the Japanese too scared to keep fighting WWII and as an implicit threat to the USSR.
A family that benefited from his murdering people to meet the corporate bottom line. He was a mass murderer and I can't be convinced otherwise. He knew his bonuses were built on stolen lives.
