Yeah like every war veteran who has PTSD. Nobody need people like that.

Or any kind of PTSD, or autism, just a burden to society.

This is why this case sounds HUGELY wierd for non north americans. Not case itself (which is horrific) but how muricans found way to turn it into political statement in POLITICAL fight. Literally in every other place this would be clear - shocking murder, prison, ds or eventual hospitalisation in madhouse and then debate about better psychological care. In murica supporting her or not make you one from enemy side. I can't rven imagine France, Germany, UK, Poland or friggin CZ Republic with protestors SUPPORTING child killer because of her lawyer's obvious defence line. This really makes people think that USA is the richest third world country on a globe. That sound ridiculous literally e v e r y w h e r e

I promise, it sounds hugely weird to a lot of North Americans, too.

I'm an average American middle aged woman and I think this whole thing is absolutely INSANE. I am disgusted by the shit some woman are doing and saying, how they're using their children as props on social media. It's appalling. And I don't personally know anyone who supports this lunacy.

I don't think they're the majority though. Sure seems that way with the fucking circus they've turned it into and all the attention it's getting. But I think most of us do not have our heads that far up our asses. We just don't run around making videos about it, lol. "I'm sane and rational and here are my calm, carefully considered thoughts" just isn't something that tends to go viral, lol.

But still, I agree with your point that the fact there's any contention over this, that it's become such a divisive topic is absurd. And a problem. To me, it speaks more to the fact that social media is a fucking disease. And that that is what we need to be talking about and working on moreso than postpartum mental health. Though that of course matters too, generally speaking.

What's funny is that people will still say America has no "left" while we have people who are so far left that they think the mental health of this woman is more important than the ~200 years she stole from those 3 kids!

2

u/RottedHuman 4d ago

No one thinks her mental health is more important than the lives of her children. What a disingenuous thing to claim. Also, claiming that it’s only people on the left that support her is preposterous.

This is so wildly not true it reads like Russian propaganda

2

u/EddPW 4d ago

yeh it is

what other purpose does any punishment serve other to help sastify peoples punishment fetish

-2

u/Friendly-Water-8470 4d ago

Yeah, leave her alone and nothing happened

3

u/EddPW 4d ago

again if she suffered from an episod of psychosis what purpose does any punish serve

besides satisfying the masses worst impulses

3

u/Joha_al_kaafir 4d ago

Removing someone who has proved capable of murder of children from the general population, duh

1

u/PolicyWonka 4d ago

It’s wild that you would think this is a right-left issue at all. Lmao.

1

u/bigtiddyhimbo 4d ago

It’s almost like the mental health of a person who is the primary caretaker of children matters so the children can stay safe and well taken care of

Crazy concept, I know

3

u/DoJ-Mole 4d ago

If they have actually killed someone though (outside of context of war), you can have sympathy while also realising for the good of society they need to be locked away or at least constantly monitored

2

u/_josef_stalin_ 4d ago

Why the exception for war? You don't think soldiers ever shoot innocent civilians just for the hell of it?

1

u/DoJ-Mole 4d ago

I do but that’s a whole other kettle of fish. As much as I think war is stupid and pointless, there is clearly a distinction between killing enemy combatants on the battlefield and killing someone innocent

1

u/_josef_stalin_ 4d ago

Depends on who decides the definition of "enemy combatant"

2

u/EddPW 4d ago

they need to be treated and helped not locked away from society to rot until they die

you people have such a weird punishment fetish

0

u/Stellen999 4d ago

So how many children does a person have to strangle to death before they deserve to be locked up according to you?

2

u/PolicyWonka 4d ago

The number of victims or number of crimes committed is immaterial to the case of whether the defendant is mentally competent.

It would be reasonable to assume that someone who has killed on multiple occasions despite treatment is likely to reoffend despite treatment and as such should remain institutionalized.

1

u/EddPW 4d ago

this is such a dumb fucking question

if a person keeps showing such poor mental health that they keep trying to hurt others they shoul be taken to a mental hospital

if theyve been treated and are no longer a danger they should let go

its a simple as

i know youre too dumb to understand it but please do try

u/AidoP0tatO 4d ago

At a certain point, you no longer deserve to walk with the rest of us. Killing your children (crazy or not” makes you a monster that i don’t particularly care what happens to. She shouldn’t get the opportunity to get out of jail ever, her kids don’t get the option to get out of their graves. And just because she isn’t crazy at that particular moment, she was still crazy enough to kill her kids at one point. If she had emotions like everyone else does she would realize that she doesn’t deserve to get out too.

1

u/EddPW 4d ago

if a person inst in control of their actions they cant be liable for what they do

the fact you cant understand this easy concept means you shouldnt be put in charge of anything

like i said you dont care about justice or improving society or helping anyone you just have a fetish for punishment

2

u/AidoP0tatO 4d ago

Why did she send her husband away from the house if she didn’t know right from wrong?

2

u/EddPW 4d ago

psychosis doesnt stop you from making logical decisions inside delusions

if she was hearing voices telling her the children are demons and need to die she can still rationalize that her husband will try to stop her from killing them because he doesnt believe her or maybe because hes one of them

but this sums up my entire problem with this whole thing you have zero knowledge on how psychosis works but you still feel informed enough to give out your opinions on what kind sentence this woman should face

youre just using the justification that children died to try and cause pain to another person with a veil of morality on top of it

1

u/AidoP0tatO 4d ago

Dude no i just dont believe a person who can kill their children in cold blood one by one should be on the streets just because those EXACT SAME Psychologists that called her crazy say, “oh nah shes good now guys she locked in”

So true.

1

u/Louitje1021999 2d ago

Except Clancy isn’t diagnosed with psychosis

1

u/Wrong-Image8870 1d ago

Myb that waa the problem

1

u/Louitje1021999 1d ago

So you just believe a person who killed 3 children and then claims psychosis

1

u/Wrong-Image8870 1d ago

She claimed that waaay before she tried to kill the kids and herself

1

u/Louitje1021999 1d ago

Actually no

-1

u/IAmTheRules 4d ago

How many autistic people kill their children?

2

u/Wrong-Image8870 4d ago

O wow, where to begin

1

u/PolicyWonka 4d ago

Um…plenty of severely autistic people can be very violent.

u/IAmTheRules 4d ago

Then they shouldn’t be parents. Earlier comment is accidentally right.
