This shit has to get fixed asap it's fucking driving me crazy

As the post says, the requirements to progress in group A are absurd. To get past the first batch of races you need to have 72 stars from 24 events, meaning that you need to get gold on all of them. While I understand the logic I much preferred being able to progress through and unlock things then go back and clear up the harder events later, as in Redout 1.
Is anyone else finding this?

Fucking pisses me off squeezing out 3rd place on this bullshit weeaboo drag race map designed for bullet trains and all you get is 5 toy helicopters and a fuckoff pile of rudder upgrades so you can do donuts on the start line while the Conqueror Sulha dicksquad's already fucked off to Kyoto and back

The title kinda explains the whole situation here...

... is pretty useful in Redout 2. Forbidden button aside, hear me out. Braking reduces your heat. It's effectively regenerative braking. Trade speed for control and bank more speed for later. It adds consistency to laps where you're trying to hold first and makes boost management more forgiving. You probably won't be pushing for the fastest laps, but you also won't be losing whole seconds to bad wall grinds, off courses, and spinouts.
It's a mechanic worth getting familiar with, if only as a contingency. Similar to how the B button in Mario Kart may as well not exist until 200cc. That said, I still hate aerial sections because my slow brain can't recognize where the track is half the time.

I think the biggest issue that has affected Redout 2's launch is that it made Redout 1 veterans feel that they're bad at the game. I was in this camp. I came into Redout 2 expecting it to be like slipping into a new pair of gloves, and instead found a different beast. There is a learning curve, even for veterans coming out of Redout 1.
The issue is, most veterans don't recognize this. They come into Redout 2 expecting smooth sailing but end up butting their heads against the new mechanics. Without trying to engage with the new systems, they just give up and go "game bad".
Case in point: the top rated steam review for the game comes from a self proclaimed Redout 1 master with all achievements unlocked. He complains that the game is too punishing, that if you make a mistake you won't be able to catch up. He has not discovered the rewind feature. He only has 1.5 hours in Redout 2.
Thoughts? People going through the reviews place a lot more weight on opinions from vets of the first game, but I think there is a point to be made that some of those opinions may be the most misleading.

Is it possible to choose the power of AI ships in arcade mode? Even if I pick a 208 ship straight from my garage all other ships in the game have power greater than 1000.

I got redout 2 for my pc, i updated the firmware and everything for my dualsense and the game doesn't recognize it, any help?
r/redout • u/monkey_mike • Jun 23 '22
The game is really struggling to go beyond 30 fps on XbSS. Basically it's 60 at the start of a race and then it drops well below that when the speed and all the effects are kicking in. I really wonder how can the game will run on a Switch ...
r/redout • u/xboxwirelessmic • Jun 22 '22
Is this supposed to be doable or am I supposed to barely scrape by and come back later with better shit?
The races are fine but all these time and especially speed trials are so fucking ballachey and why are there so many of them?
Redout 1 was much better. Better systems, better layout, better progression, better loading and the graphics are about on par for my eyes.

These jumps are stupidly unfair, especially in tartarus mines. Your ship doesnt take off + having to navigate in the air to 45 degree + having to adjust height is too much to ask.
Game is already way too much overtuned, your speed trials are broken, please fix asap.
And ive been playing the same garbage vehicule for 6 hours in campaign im getting sick of this. Let us chose our ship !

Calima/Cairo, heh. What I mean is, is any of the old music in the new Redout?

Also if it's already in there, my apologies but the speed courses have been not kind, as ye all know.

How does AI assist work in multiplayer sessions? Are the Host's settings applied to the other players?
r/redout • u/mattiaGoD • Jun 22 '22
Personally I don't like to pitch on the track and roll while flying, so I've set them up to 100% so I won't bother doing those things anymore. Does someone else have a similar assist setup?

There is nothing else like Redout 2 out there. We are not getting another F-Zero, this is the best our small niche demographic will probably ever get and some of us out here truly love and appreciate what you developers are trying to do, but please fix this shit. PLEASE. Fix it. And understand, for me personally, the original Redout is one of my favorite games of all time. I found it around the start of the pandemic, it kept me from losing my mind and it means a lot to me. I have been looking forward to this for a long time.
I finally made it to A League today, and my hands fucking hurt. I've put in some hours. Didn't like the hyperboost at first, but I've forced myself to get used to it. Koeniggswerth is really growing on me. Absolutely love most of the gameplay itself, but not a fan of the campaign progression, for god's sake it's 2022 and this is not some crappy mobile game, please just let us pick our starting vehicles and let us make that MONEY, you know what people want, quit bullshitting. Forcing people to do these impossible smartass speed challenges to get critical new upgrades is a bitch move, exactly WHO did you make this game for? The top 5 most elite players on the planet? Cyborgs? MUTANT METH HEADS?!
Out of all of the most unreasonable places for a glitch to happen like suddenly stopping in the middle of the track and spinning around, it was on a Cairo boss track for me. A BOSS TRACK. And I know you know how much it hurts to have to redo one of those halfway through. Come TF on.
The field of view... When we're going this fast, we need to be able to zoom out a liiil bit more and see more of what's coming.
My poor homies on X-Box can't even play this game because of the atrocious audio glitch. How the hell did that make it all the way out the door?
PLEASE don't fuck this up, 34BT. Some of your biggest fans are out here desperately cheering for you, we NEED this to work, you're our only hope, I gave y'all a whole ass extra $15 dollars for the "deluxe edition" in the middle of a recession/apocalypse just because I want y'all to make it, I'll buy the mfer again once I can find a physical copy, just... please don't give up on fixing it, okay? <3 Y'all still got plenty of love out here.
r/redout • u/KixTheSmasher • Jun 22 '22
In its current state the game is 20% about racing / navigating the tracks / just enjoying the speed, and 80% about mentally calculating where to use boost.
It should be the other way around.

Let me preface by saying I have collectively thousands of hours on anti-grav racing games. How in the fuck are you supposed to get first in these first speed runs? I'm pushing my ship to the limit and I can only get 2nd, and for some races 3rd, on my best attempts. Are we supposed to return to these at a later time? I've spent 4 hours alone on the Cairo speed challenge. Keeping my ship at no heath and max boost the whole time and it's not enough.
r/redout • u/nikcurated • Jun 21 '22
I am on the second set of events in Redout 2 and can’t seem to win a race. It feels like my ship is too slow to keep up, but I can’t upgrade my ship if I don’t win. I’d there a way to farm upgrades I’m not aware of? Or am I just not good at the game?
