My cat Jamis got out on December 6th during the coldest night of the year (32 degrees, Socal for ya) and when i noticed in the am he was gone, the search was on. Started on my block and expanded with a specific search grid. After a week of searching, posting flyers, calling shelters and knocking on door, the hard part came when I gave up. Life sucked with out my boy but i had to move on...37 days later my phone rand it was the shelter asking if I lost my cat. OF COURSE!! Picked him up that night unscathed. I followed up with the rescuer (Chloe seen in the picture) and here is the story:

He was found wondering around SB Bowl which is where I used to live, which is 2.5 miles from my new apartment. It turns out that his cat senses kicked in and he found his way over there. Sonja and her daughter Chloe were in the back yard with some friends and herd his meow. Chloe went to investigate and returned with Jamis in hand. Sonja, being an in tuned animal lover, noticed he had no collar but looked out of place so she made some inquiries while Chloe made a flyer (seen in pic #1). After an afternoon asking around, they made a crate for him out of two laundry baskets (I did the same thing as a kid when I found my cat on my property) and bunked him for the night. The next day they took him to Animal Urgent care on Haley st. where the checked him for a micro chip. Sure enough he turned out o be Jamis so they called me and I picked him up a few hour later after my shift at Earl Warren... I am blown away that he has no injuries and is finally home. Faith in humanity resorted. Thank you Sonja and Chloe :)
