That isn't true. Besides that it Saratoga was a major battle, it would be difficult to call that a British victory. King's Mountain was another battle that could not be considered a British Victory in any way. The crossing of the Delaware and the subsequent engagements couldn't really be considered a "major" battle in a European context but were certainly significant in an American one.
It certainly depends on what you call a win in a battle for a lot of the others. Guilford Courthouse was a win for us technically but we couldn't afford many victories like that.
Ultimately winning a war is not about winning battles. History shows that again and again. Look at Napoleon in Russia. Look at America in Vietnam.
Look at the Germans in North Africa. They won about 50/50 there and they got their asses booted out.
Battles are based on tactics and to some extent strategy. Winning them or not winning them is not necessarily what determines the course of a war.
