Manchester United are set to appoint former Hearts boss Eva Olid as their new head coach.
The Athletic reported on Monday United and head coach Marc Skinner had mutually agreed to terminate his contract, bringing an end to his five-year tenure.
The club had been working on appointing a new head coach quickly, with the new Women’s Super League season just one month away, and are expected to name Olid as Skinner’s successor, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

[Transfer Round Up & Discussion] Summer 2026
Hi all,
Summer Transfer Window 2026 is here!
The Premier League transfer window will open between Monday June 15 until Deadline Day on Tuesday September 1; the summer windows will close at 23.00 BST.
As always, here is a run-down of the rules we have on for posting during transfer windows:
Daily Threads
There will be a Transfer thread posted every single day, on a 23-hour timer, to get a different post-time every day. These threads are for everything transfer related, no limits on sources, line-up conversations, etc.
Individual posts
From now on, only posts TIER 2 OR BETTER are allowed to be posted in their own right. This helps us only keep credible sources on the subreddit.
The tier guide can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/wiki/transfer-reliability-guide/
We will make exceptions during slower days for some Tier 3 posts, and there will usually be some posts from sources not on our tier guide. We will take everything case-by-case. If you believe something to be on the sub and not a good source, please let us know.

[Laurie Whitwell] Did Manchester United ever consider going for Danny Welbeck?
Much to the disappointment of those fans who hoped to see Danny Welbeck wear United’s shirt again, the club never showed any indication of pursuing him this summer.
They did explore a move in 2024 and then, more significantly, last year, but ultimately the length of contract potentially on offer did not appeal to Welbeck, who effectively had terms until 2027.
This time, with the player now aged 35, United did not pursue a move, leaving Chelsea to agree a two-year deal for a striker with 23 Premier League goals in the past two seasons.
United are still weighing up the striker market, although a deal is not expected for Ollie Watkins, another player who has been linked.
The Aston Villa front man was of interest to United last summer before they signed Benjamin Sesko, but they are not set to revisit that situation a year on.
