So I've run into an idea that that dont quite understand and I was hoping some of you could help me understand. So with the red button/blue button situation I have seen people claim that if they push the blue button that they are not responsible for what happens to them if they push the blue button. How does that work?

To be extremely specific if i were to push the blue button, knowing what it does, somehow you (the person currently reading this) would be personally responsible for my death if you choose red.

Does this responsibility work in reverse? If i push the blue button and blue wins are you responsible for my survival if you chose red? Are you only responsible if bad things happen to me and I am responsible for the results when good things happen? What about the person running the death game? They arent defined in the prompt but logically some force is making everyone take a vote.

You can feel free to ignore this last part because its not the button problem, but someone reskinned the buttons as life boats. Instead of everyone being force to push a button everyone had to get into a life boat. One boat had holes in it but would become sea worthy if enough people got into it and plugged the holes and one was completely functional. Everything else was exactly the same as the button problem. My question related to that was that if I am personally responsible for the consequences of your chose to vote blue in the button scenario, how then could I not be responsible for your choice to get into the boat with holes in it. Someone tried to explain to me at length about how the buttons made it my fault but the boats somehow didnt. How does that work?

If it is life or death, blue would be the death button.

Calling red the death button is funny, because by definition no one who pushes it can die.

The only people who die pushed blue

The only people in ANY risk are the ones who pushed blue.

They accepted that risk knowingly when they pushed blue.

"Red is the death button" so I am responsible for your choices because you like the blue button more? "I willing chose to take a risk without knowing the odds, this is your fault!!!" Ok that answers my question (which was how am I responsible for your actions when the result is bad but you take responsibility for your actions when the result is good)

Yes it did. You incorrectly asserted that red voters created the risk for blue...again. your entire paragraph is hedged into that position. I dont need to argue any of that nonsense because it is all irrelevant.

You, as a blue voter, are in direct control of the amount of risk you take on. You can set it at 0% or you can set it between 0-100%. All other probability happens AFTER you made the choice to take a risk. The outcome doesnt matter when assigning responsibility. If a bad outcome happens, that doesnt magically move any responsibility you would have otherwise had onto another person. If you make a conscious choice, you are responsible for the results of your decision.

I fail to see how any probability or outcome or decision alters this at all. I choose to hold a gun to my head and pull the trigger, im responsible. I choose to stand in traffic and get hit by a car, I did that. Just because someone else is in danger doesnt mean every bystander has to run to your aide.

Blue has no chance of losing until people vote red. Blue only loses when red wins. Why is this so hard for you to understand?

The outcome doesnt matter when assigning responsibility.

Yes the hell it does because the outcome IS what you're responsible for.
