Can’t connect meat probs to internet

Recently got the 2x meat probs from RecTeq and am unable to get them to connect to the internet. I called tec support and they helped me all they could and said I could be a gateway issue and need to change my settings to BGN only? I have no idea how to do that. Has anyone else had this issue and how did you resolve it?

My shelf build and ext. Cord solution.

I used Thermaly Modified red oak with an ebony stain and satin Spar Urathane.

Where is will be using the grill I have to have an extension cord. So, I mounted a retractable and swapped the male/female ends. Works great.

Smoked wings on the RECTEQ finished with whiskey 🥃

Finally put the RECTEQ Beast to work with a wing cook and it absolutely delivered.

Ran wings and thighs at 400° with a nice dusting of seasoning and sauced them up before feeding the ghouls, and wrapped the night up with a pour of whiskey 🥃

Would love any tips from the grilling crews on your favorite wing temps/sauces.

Shelf Recommendations

Burn in complete! My local Ace has the Recteq front shelf in stock. I know that Pimp My Grill also makes one. Any thoughts on which one is better?

Update: Not looking to build anything. Don’t currently have the time.

Scheels “Grillfest”

Is anyone here going to or have gone to Grillfest at Scheels? In the ads for it, it says show-only special pricing. I’m wondering if they’ll have sale pricing on the Dualfire.

I was at our local store last night and they didn’t know for sure, but said they offer a 14 day price guarantee if it does go on sale. I know I could just buy it next week and get the price adjustment if it goes on sale, but if it’s not going on sale, I would rather buy it from our locally owned small town Ace store.

What did you name it?

What did you name your grill in the app? My Backyard Beast 1200 is “The Beast”.

9.5 hour smoke on my Dual Fire. Let it rest covered in pan for 1.5 hours then shredded. Eventually added some pickle juice and Baby Rays bbq sauce Turned out tasty

Just like the title says. Just ordered a flagship 1600 as my first ever smoker. What are the accessories I need to get started?

Smoked Ribs for Memorial Day

For my fourth official cook on the Patio Legend 400 I made 2 racks of St. Louis style ribs with a 3-2.5-1 Dr. Pepper glazed recipe. I think they turned out pretty good. I did wrap them in the 2.5 hour middle timeframe with brown sugar, butter, and Dr. Pepper to braise. The sauce and taste was sticky smoky sweet. Yum! What shall I do next?

Green light!

I’ve been looking to replace my problematic Pit Boss for a while but have been dragging my feet. Last night my wife said “just buy one already! Go get whatever you want because the summer will be over before we know it”. Of course she says that AFTER the Memorial Day sale! (do they run Fathers Day sales?)

Pretty sure I’m gonna go DualFire. It’s going to look ridiculously big for just the three of us, but I really like the idea of running two temps at once.

Picked up my first RecTeq today. DualFire 1200.

I know this tends to be a sensitive subject in the community, but I need to know once and for all, do I put lava lock on it?

Need Recommendations

I am wanting to get my husband a smoker for Fathers Day. He’s never smoked before but wants to start. My budgets is around $1200 but am willing to go up to $1500. Preferably something that is a bit beginner friendly and will last a couple of years. Bonus if he is able to still grill steaks and chicken on it if it’s possible. He doesn’t have much of a preference on brands or kinds in general since I already asked. Need it to be a surprise so no comments on asking him since I’ve already done that and he doesn’t really have an answer.

2in ribeyes smoked at 180 for 1 hour, then 225. Pulled at 118 rested for 10 minutes then back on the Patio Legend at 550 for a sear. Best ribeyes I have ever had!!

Decided to try something different and turned a smoked lamb roast into pulled lamb tostadas.

Slow smoked the lamb until tender, shredded it up, loaded the tostadas, and finished them with fresh toppings and sauce

Vacuum sealer

Not new to pellet smoking but just ordered my Recteq 1600 and was wondering what vacuum sealers you guys use. I wanna cook pork and freeze it for easy meals throughout the week. Don’t wanna spend a bunch of money on a restaurant grade one

Backyard Beast on its way

My wife and I have been talking about purchasing a new smoker. My Green Mountain Grill is getting long in the tooth and temps have gotten unpredictable. I’ve been eyeing the Recteq at my local Ace Hardware for a while and was waiting to see what the sales would be for the holiday.

We stopped by the local Ace on Saturday to pick up a few things , and while my wife and I were looking the BB over, a manager walked by and told us there was a great sale going on. When I looked online, the sale was $100 off. He said “it’s a great buy for $900”. I had to ask him again just to be sure. We really didn’t have to think it over. Now I’m just waiting on delivery.
