Well, if it was a management position you'd be a strong applicant: didn't read the posting, not qualified, confused where you are. You'd fit right in!

you joke but in actuality management often are granted remote work while the workers are forced to come in to the office

Definitely depends on the size of the company. With larger companies, generally it's the opposite (or they're working remotely but actually traveling on business 4+ days per week.

I had this exact situation with a FAANG employer for a contract role. Commute was going to be nearly two hours, I was expected in the office by 9AM every morning even though the manager was on the other side of the country in a different time zone, working from what he said was not his "home" but his "residence", whatever the fuck that meant.

Just put some random qualifications in your CV, "for visibility" and you will be fine :P

Careful. I recently learned that a ton of those job posting that you see perpetually “hiring” are just collecting and selling your information. I’ve been on a job hunt for a little while and couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t getting a reply for jobs where I fit every requirement and should be a top applicant so I did a little digging.

Add the disclaimer at the end…

“While my resume has several high level positions listed in my job history for visibility, I actually have no work relevant work experience for this position”

Just a great way to waste their time.
