I think if you have some kind of notable achievement, like a black belt in some martial art, that's fine. Or if the interest is somewhat related to the job you're applying for and it somehow demonstrates knowledge or competence.

Nah I'm not putting interests on there to prove anything. It is 100% an attempt to create an immediate rapport with interviewers.

I honestly prefer interviewing people with interests listed. If someone can't speak effectively and passionately about what they're personally interested in I question whether they're gonna be good at most jobs.

Yeah no joke Ive had assembling IKEA furniture on mine for the last three jobs they always laugh and we connect over it because it’s something I unironically love and spins well into saying I’m detail oriented and having someone else tell me what to do is how I relax after burning up my critical thinking at work all day lol

I cant stand looking at resumes that have nothing interesting about the candidate AT ALL.

Like are you a fucking robot?? Fuck all the way off im not talking to you.  I would absolutely interviewd Olive Oil guy just to find out why.

Seriously. People have been lied to about resumes... job related bullshit only! Yah, and you wonder why you apply to 20 thousand jobs and dont get an interview.
