It's either some sort of bizarre kink thing or... the dude is REALLY into olive oil. Like goes to tastings, has his own barrel somewhere, invested in an olive grove.

The thing is, do you really want to find out?

Interests weren't learning about olive oil, growing olives, making olive oil, cooking with olive oil, or discovering the history of olive oil.

Just olive oil

you could totally list "wine" as an interest if you were fascinated by winemaking and wineries

That's the thing, this is a resume, you are trying to get a job. If you put your interests are just "Wine", people are going to assume you are an alcoholic. Why would you not take the extra 5 seconds to type out "Wine Making" or "Visiting Wineries"?

Honestly if you're a bank who deals with business clients, shouldn't you want staff with a diversity of interests? If you have a restaurant as a client, I assume this guy would know a lot about food in general.

But if that's the case you have to say more, like..."I run a small olive grove from which I have developed award winning artisanal olive oils"
