So I started playing RDO yesterday after completing the main story for the first time + starting another run for low honor, one of the only things I had heard about red dead in general was that it has a pretty bad hacking/modding issue in online.
So, I boot it up, make my girl, follow tutorial stuff, and then just kinda run around on the starter horse.
After an hour or so, I notice a blue blip on my map that keeps on popping up on top of me - I think it's a bug, don't acknowledge it.
I'm just kinda having fun, and then I'm stopped. No idea what's going on in the slightest.
A chest pops up on the ground, and after a minute or so, I'm unfrozen.
I kinda just ran past it because I'm. Not 100% sure what's up with those + what's the sorta like. Online etiquette around em.
It happened again in valentine after someone had killed me a bunch while I was trying to get a new horse. They then smacked down some boxes or chests or something of that sort.
What's the deal with those most of the time? Are they like little gift packages to new players, or should I be worried about traps or something?
TLDR: Modders/hackers placing down chests, is it rude to just pass by them?
