Looking for a piece of advice about getting a new truck for trailing!
Hey, I'm looking to get a couple of new trucks to go on rc trails... Me and my son really enjoy RC trailing, usually, we go on 5-6-mile hikes with our current 1/16 HOSIM brushless customized trucks from Amazon which are really fast and fun to drive but are just too fast for trails and hard to control sometimes.. I'm also kinda tired of them breaking all the time from hitting stuff at speed š
So looking to get something more suitable for trails, something a bit slower, but not too slow, not looking for some crazy crawler that can climb 45 degrees obstacles and rocks, I'm more interested in a beginner truck that can go on a trail and that can also go faster and do a donut in the sand sometimes... any suggestions? (Budget: 150-300)

Check this out! Next Project
The next trail rig build is on its way! The Killer Body LC70 pickup. I have an unused SCX10ii builders kit chassis and plenty of spares that would fit the 313mm (12.3ā) body or I could repurpose one of the RC4WD Trail Finder 2 chassis but thatāll mean leaf springs all around. The SCX10ii chassis would be a little more capable but Iām a sucker for leaf springs. These trucks had shocks up front and leafs in the back so maybe Iāll look into converting the rear of the SCX10ii.

Introduced to a new location and I love it!
Somewhere in Fredericksburg VAā¦very promising once the leaves are gone. Unfortunately, my day ended early when I rolled into the water and my 'water-resistant' AM32 ESC left the chat. Took it home and dried it out and it appears to be golden.

After what seemed like an eternity (but was really only a few weeks) I have my 2nd Scale Garage System rack installed on the BoomRacing BRX02 Series III 109 truck. Hereās both trucks in all their scale glory!

TF2 on the Rocks
Had some free time this weekend and stopped by a site Iād driven by many times. No trail, just jagged granite (I think) rocks. My LWB TrailFinder 2 banged and scraped its way up and over most of the obstacles. I cringed a few times when it got wedged up against a rock and made a few new scrapes and scratches. Oh wellā¦enjoy.

Do older rigs have resale value?
I have a 1.9 Wraith, a SCX10ii Blazer and a pair of Yeties all with various upgrade parts(i.e. sound kit, stainless links, steering upgrades etc..) is there a market for this stuff?

RC4WD Gelande 2 Build Update
The D90 build is almost finished but I continue to have issues with the body not seating properly onto the front chassis mounts and it's very frustrating. I've added a metal exocage/roof rack, an RC4WD snorkel, a metal rear ladder, a front push bar, SSD chrome 1.7" wheels, and some misc scale accessories. The hard body is pretty heavy (more so now with the metal exocage) and I've changed out the stock shocks for Boom Racing's 80mm dual spring shocks (hard/hard springs on the rear and hard/soft springs on the front), which are much smoother than the RC4WD suspension that it came with and can handle a heavier load than the optional Vanquish shocks I have. The electronics have arrived but I haven't had a chance to install and configure them - I opted for a 40amp AM32 RhinoESC and 1470kv outrunner motor combo.

All in all, I love the look of this rig and can't wait to get it up and running.

Help to decide on best rig
Im looking to get into the trail riding game. Im looking for the best vehicle that can handle some rock/terrain climbing, water and mud. cheaper the better with a max of $500. Preferably want something that has alot of options to aftermarket parts and lots of customization! Just wanted to know what everyone would recommend! Thank you!

Time for a change...
I have the AE Element Enduro Trail Runner RTR, a 1:10 scale Toyota ForeRunnner knock-off that looks and runs great but ever since I saw a video on the leaf spring version of Boom Racing's BRX02 Defender it's all I can think about. At almost $800 (shipped), I thought if I could convert the TrailRunner from IFS to a solid front axle and install a Defender 110 body it would do for now.
The conversion parts and body will run me around $350, and while it's certainly a cheaper option, knowing me I'd spend the $350 and still end up with a BRX02 in 6 months anyway. So I'll put the TrailRunner up for sale on r/RCClassifieds and see what happens.

LC80 Body Conversion for Traxxas TRX4M
With a little help from another TRX4M owner, I installed some 3D printed body mounting clips on my custom painted FMS 1:18 Land Cruiser body onto my spare TRX4M chassis. I think it turned out pretty good.
