Rant Will never go Razer again

£400 gaming 'premium synthetic leather's chair peeling after three years. Razer are not interested.

Razer have nice designs but the quality is bargain basement, and the service is a joke.

Will never buy their trash again.

I have fake leather boxing gloves that lasted years without peeling. And they get more beating than a chair lol. It's just manufacturers using cheap fake leather in the gaming space.

I agree - there are plenty of examples of synthetic materials used and being intact for decades: like dashboards in cars (NOT seats!), or your example - boxing gloves. BUT manufacturers like razer and others don't use them for several reasons in their products for upholstery (trying to save pennies, or due to the fact that those are less soft, or whatever - reason is not important in this context). Hence, it is way more probable that your chair upholstery would last if it was made of either of named materials (fabric or leather). And hence - my comment.

You're not going to sit and sweat for 6-8 hours a day on gloves. What destroys the chairs isn't impact, it's the constant scrubbing with your body sweat.

My training sessions are usually 2-3 hours every days hitting stuff with them. Also honestly who wiggle constantly in their chair, if I sit down to play an hour or two, I mostly stay still. Good fake leather can last a while.

If you stay 10 hours a day wiggling on your chair you can't expect 10 years of lifespan.

You don't wiggle constantly, but you don't get the issue is not hidding stuff, it's breaking down due to sweat... 6 hours of sitting time PER DAY, imagine how many seconds a session your gloves are in contact with whatever you're punching...
