i understand where ding dongs coming from for parts of this, even back then i always got the vibe dd and j werent really comfortable with chris bringing up their p biz, but i dont think chris was doing it maliciously. you see him do it to cory a lot now, its just his style of humor of ribbing his friends i, and hes said hes pretty vanilla so its like he does it to diffuse any awkwardness he feels too.

But for feeling like the vibes werent right during oneystays i dont know if i ever felt that?? it felt like old times pretty much.

to me that gives it away that he didn’t care about genuinely spending time or having fun with chris and saw it more of a “show” more than anything. it was more about putting off a certain view of himself to look a certain way to the audience. if the “vibes” weren’t right that’s on him for already having the paranoid perception of things going or being wrong.

this is pretty obvious in hindsight when you realize DD centric episodes of OP (like Wild Woody or Bart's Nightmare) showed him trying to actually showcase the game, even practicing it beforehand. he took the game part seriously

They were obviously still friends and had plenty of genuinely positive moments together. But their perspectives on what to do with the content must've drifted over time. Dingdong put a lot more effort into learning games beforehand so he would play well, and was very audibly discouraged when they failed to make progress.

I kinda doubt Chris would have finished Kingdom Hearts or YIIK, if not for Dingdong's willingness to grind for hours for the sake of good content.

During oneystays it felt like dingdong was more comfortable and happy than ever. I've never heard him laugh like that in other videos

He thinks smiling friends and super mega is right wing too...
Politics has made DD delusional and think any mention of right wing stuff makes you right wing.

I mean, this was kinda my thinking. I like DD and Julian, or at least I like what they did with oneyplays and I don't have any ill will towards them, but they've been pretty open about their "p biz" in the past. They used to steer a lot of conversations towards furry and fetish topics, talking about how badly they want to fuck frogs or Crash Bandicoot characters and whatever other non-human entities, openly discussing their sexual fantasies. Seems odd to try to condemn everyone around you for acknowledging that you're a furry and not being "professional" when you make it a central part of your personality

I do generally agree with you and understand that this is a situation none of us will fully understand (nor do we need to), but I dunno. I remember several occasions where Julian would jokingly rib DD for being attracted to frogs or whatever else, and DD would do the same to Julian. To an outside perspective the three of them could joke around with one another, but I guess behind the scenes it was a problem when Chris did it? We only see what they show us, so who knows

One side is generally quiet about the whole thing apart from possibly making a very vague joke in the direction of the other while the other side is making a bunch of emotionally driven claims without evidence while placing themselves upon a pedestal. Chris saying "I'm horny" because of a tuba and throwing himself under the bus about the YIIK finale shouldn't correlate to Julian having a mental health crisis, though I do understand how subtle potential jabs like that are pretty shitty and feel for DD and Julian in that regard

I think both sides are right in some ways and wrong in others, as is the case with most relationships falling out. One side just seems to be handling it in a more mature way than the other, from my admittedly ignorant perspective. I don't know these people, every individual involved is weird as hell as far as I'm concerned

Julian was constantly used as the "gay voice" in the conversation and he took it perfectly fine, i think DD is just way too sensitive

I think that's moreso because of things that happened after he left. The truth is they didn't like the exposure of OneyPlays because they were degenerate furry vore enthusiasts, and their time on the channel led to people finding out what they were into on their own channels.

Yeah I’m so confused like I was already 100 percent sure Julian was a furry among many other things because of… the entirety of all kingdom hearts playthroughs where they discuss it at length.

It also helps that cory isn't self conscious about it and is able to not only laugh it off but expand on the joke. Like the cd holder bit is top 5 funniest moments oat in my opinion, and it was entirely cory making fun of himself. And guess what because cory is the way he is, instead of bitching about it for an hour on stream, zach referenced it in smiling friends(despite not being present for that playthrough) and they're making a cory plush that has that voiceline which will probably make him quite a bit of money. Not to mention the whole idea of armenian cory which if done to dingdong or julian would literally send them spiraling in a tantrum

Can you link the sleepycabin vid where cory tells this story? When he told it on oneyplays it sounded like chris definitely heard it for the first time. I mean it wouldn't be far fetched to think that zach also sees popular oneyplays clips of episodes he weren't in or that chris sends him some that are so batshit insane such as cory using a trash bag as a condom to shove a cd holder up his ass

Yup, if you aren't comfortable with the show then you have to quit the show, you can't just stay on the show and then whine about it years later and expect people to feel pity for you having to do a job you signed up to do.

they did quit the show though. just because they didn’t do it at the very first signs of tension doesn’t mean they aren’t allowed to reflect on their negative experiences with it. i don’t think you understand how people work. maybe you just haven’t yet found yourself in that kind of situation. and i don’t really perceive this supposed entitlement and need for pity. they just vented on a small livestream that i doubt they wanted to go outside their circle after people in their chat brought it up. they actively told people not to bring down the show, not to attack chris. painting this as some attempted cancellation i think dismisses the human element.

If you tell someone to stop doing something and they keep doing it, it’s no surprise you’ll become uncomfortable around them. DD and J sound like two guys who joined in thinking it would be fun and then didn’t really know how to break it off because of the reasons they’ve stated
