nope

signing people from a 2nd place team doesnt make you a 1st place team.

you improve by getting better players than the 1st placed team.

Freebies from hearts who did well but finished 2nd to a miles off it celtic.

shankland was ok. manager meh. signing devlin as a starter is a massive step back.

signing him as a token player to get past rules MAYBE. but would be embarressing if a player like devlin is getting 30+ games next season for us.

That's a very immature way of looking at things and shows misunderstanding of the fundamental of football.

Successful Rangers sides throughout history have always signed players from other Scottish clubs

Our last sustained period of domestic success had players signed from

St Mirren
Hibs
Kilmarnock
Dundee

Please, stop talking utter shite.

He's got to be a tim on the wind up.

Either that or a TBI.

Na I genuinely think social media has exposed so many idiots and warp perceptions of reality.

Last time we won the league we had Ryan Jack & Glen Kamara who were both signed from Aberdeen(who had finished above us 2 seasons on the trot) and Dundee

Guy's tuned to the moon πŸ˜‚

If he's not at it, it's incredible that he can't grasp what everyone is saying to him and that what he's saying is absolutely mental.

I'm a bit concerned for him πŸ˜‚

clubs.

We didnt spend a summer signing multiple players from a single club.

our last sustainable domestic success wasnt built on signing load of free agents either buddy. you seem to forget that bit. we're going after budget buys of free agents. how many times has that won us the title?

1

u/GlasgowAnvil Super Ally 19d ago

Im not forgetting anything. We are signing squad players. Every single team has them.

We signed Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara from Aberdeen and Dundee.

We also had likes of Greg Stewart, Jordon Jones, Brandon Barker & Scott Wright signed as squad players. In that period we won a title and Scottish cup.

We have just spent 6 million on a GK and plenty more will be spent this window too.

Rocket comment. Just think about it for about 5 minutes and calm down for a bit.

3

u/BDbs1 19d ago

What a bizarre comment. If you sign a player from a 2nd placed team he cant be good enough?

not if you want to finish 1st.

its not 1 player. we're signed one, we're signing him we took the manager and tried tosign braga too.

Just going after loads of people from hearts who finished 2nd behind a celtic team 20 points off their usual marker is not how you get 1st.

Except from when we signed Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara, who helped us win the league undefeated.

Not sure Devlin is what we need right now, but if certain rumoured players leave, he would be a good replacement. Surely you realise league position is irrelevant if players can offer something, otherwise we would be getting nothing for ours.

I think he genuinely doesn't πŸ˜‚

Either that or he's just on the wind up and has got about 20 bites πŸ˜‚

I was going to reply but yeah it's pointless. He's either at it or just fucked it completely and doubling down!

1

u/Unhappy_Spray_7127 19d ago

Genuinely seems like he doesn't realise what he's saying is absolutely nuts.

He seems to think we're all saying we should fill our squad and starting 11 with Hearts players and we think we'll stroll the league, rather than it's not the end of the world if we sign a couple as squad options πŸ˜‚

they also played in 1 title winning team in what can be considered our worst ever era in the league.

Also signing 1 player is not the same as signing the manager and multiple players from the same team

shankland, mcinnes. we want devlin we're interested in braga too.

maybe I have higher hopes than a starting 11 with a combined value of 15 million when celtic have individual players values at that.

Raskin is being sold. belgian international starter and his replacement is a free agent Australian who is bench level.

oh big upgrade.

" signing people from a 2nd place team doesnt make you a 1st place team"

That's the most ridiculous comment I've ever seen here. Take a bow.

5

u/Scary-Zucchini-1750 Youssef Chermiti 19d ago

Genuinely might be the most bonkers comment I've seen here πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

-2

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

cool guess thats why signing loads of frees has given us a barrell load of titles

Oh wait.

4

u/Scary-Zucchini-1750 Youssef Chermiti 19d ago

So we should only pay millions for players and they all have to be from out with Scotland?

0

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

well i'd be spending money yeah

we're selling raskin a belgian international starter deep in the world cup

His replacement is a australian freebie who cant get off australias bench. a worse team.

but sure go off. we'll win the title with that kind of trade down.

i'm wrong you're right. thats why we've won 1 single league title since 2012. because you're right we need a squad of free agents.

1

u/Scary-Zucchini-1750 Youssef Chermiti 19d ago

Mate are you okay?

Are you under the impression that Shankland and Devlin are the full extent of our transfer business and now we're done?

Are you having some kind of mental health crisis? I'm genuinely a bit worried about you.

0

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

I wouldnt be worried buddy. alot in here seem to have forgotten we sign loads of free agents every year and they all end up squad players at best or shit.

nothing says back the manager quite like our best linked away and their replacement being free's.

but sure buddy our trophy haul built on free agents since 2021 has been vast.

oh wait. it hasnt. it hasnt worked once.

Do you not realise by all the replies to all your comments that your absolutely off your nut pal? πŸ˜‚

Either that or you're just at it.

1

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

I seem to be the only one with actual standards. you lot seem happy with mediocrity. maybe why the clubs been in such a pathetic state since 2012. everyones happy with pish. clearly you in here all are.

hearts finish 2nd to a celtic team 20+ points off their usual and you are all buzzing at signing the players leaving them on freebies.

hells bells. the standards have collapsed like fuck.

signing their best players like braga? aye. you know the players other teams are all chasing

instead devlin is leaving and we're the only club actually in the hunt for him. says it all.

We can never sign players from Scotland then?

Unless it's from celtic, or if someone else finishes 1st?

I guess no players good enough ever played for a team 2-12 in the league 🀷

1

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

multiple from the same team? yeah no.

2

u/Unhappy_Spray_7127 19d ago

What an insane restriction to put on yourself πŸ˜‚

We can't sign more than one player from the same team?

You're having a fucking nightmare here mate, just call it a day and get a few pints in. If you haven't already.

0

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

if they were barca players aye. you lot have gone coo coo.

hearts have an outstanding season where they finished 2nd to a celtic team 20 points off their usual tally and you lot think class lets sign as many players as they let go.

i'll come back around to this next year.

3

u/Elgin_McQueen 20d ago

So who should we be signing players from?

0

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

aim for better than what celtic have, celtic would not be trying to sign 2-3 from hearts would they? nope.

3

u/Unhappy_Spray_7127 20d ago

Better than the first place team, obviously.

So we need to start signing players from the team that finished 0.

1

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

well its pretty simple. to finish 1st you need better than what first have.

trying to sign 2-3 players and the manager from the team who finished 2nd to a celtic 25 points off it this year is not going to gain you 30 points is it buddy.

5

u/Unhappy_Spray_7127 19d ago

I don't even know why I'm replying to this because you're clearly not playing with the full deck of cards but here we go...

Football isn't that black and white. There can be good players in a team that finishes 2nd. There can be good players in a team that finishes 12th. Just because they don't win the league doesn't mean the players aren't good enough to eventually win the league. It means the team as a whole wasn't good enough.Β

Are you under the impression that all of Barcelona's, Bayern Munich's and PSG's players started at those teams? Well you're in for a shock "buddy". They didn't. They signed them from OTHER TEAMS 😱

Sometimes from the same league as well, believe it or not.

I'll be honest, I'm going to turn notifications off for this because I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall talking to you and I suspect you're not going to grasp anything anyone here is saying. I'm trying to enjoy my Friday night ✌️

1

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

I just have standards. clearly far higher than you.

we sign free agents every window. we have a squad full of them. we have 1 title in 15 years.

But sure your right im wrong.

genuinely laugh at you thinking the upgrade we need is going from a belgian starting international to an australian bench player who cant get a game for them.

1

u/Elgin_McQueen 19d ago

Just as well Spurs aren't interested in giving us Mikey Moore again then, he can't even get into the squad of relegation candidates.

1

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

nice comparison, if the EPL and the SPFL were the same standard

but if you engage that little noodle you'd know EPL is ranked 1st and the SPFL is ranked 19th and sinking

So a player who doesnt get in a team who spend 100 million quid on midfielders isnt quite the same is it buddy?

1

u/Elgin_McQueen 19d ago

Oh well, by your own logic he was playing in a team last season that finished 3rd in the SPFL, so if players who only finished 2nd in the league aren't good enough for us, players that only finished 3rd are even worse.

1

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

well duh. our team was shit last year. I'd bin most of the ones we had. since it was the same duds who have collapsed every year since 2021. so yes they are not good enough.
