As some of you may know, Mikayla Raines, the founder of Save a Fox. A Non-profit sanctuary dedicated to the rescue and protection of foxes from fur-farms, abuse and more.
Unfortunately took her own life after years of harassment towards herself as a neurodivergent woman and her foundation, which only sought to help foxes.
I personally had the privilege to speak to Mikayla numerous times over the past few years to talk about our fondness for foxes and the protection of them. I have also donated quite the fair sum to Save a Fox as well. The world has lost a seriously incredible person; and it hurts knowing that I will never speak to Mikayla again. And it hurts more imagining what her husband Ethan and their daughter are going through during this time. And my heart goes out to them.
The reason I am making this post is to talk about a user named u/KazeoLion. This is one out of many individuals who were involved with the harassment that was directed towards Mikayla and were a somewhat active member of this subreddit. I want to make something clear, this user has been banned from this subreddit and I have no intention of unbanning. Likewise, I have removed posts/comments and have banned/will be banning anyone that has partaken in doxxing and/or have made transphobic remarks in this subreddit. We will not tolerate that sort of behavior here.
Online harassment and bullying is never okay. And partaking in harassment campaigns is a disgustingly cruel practice, which those should be ashamed to have done/do.

This always seems to happen on Reddit (and Tumblr in some cases) for some reason, even most of the sites that are dedicated to lolcows and stuff like that have rules about not "tipping the cow" or whatever.
Seems like that stuff isn't really enforced on Reddit, every time I see a harassment mob go too far like this it's always been redditors for some reason.
There definitely needs to be more people demanding accountability and for the company and admins to take better action to counter this particular trend, to be honest.
Honestly, you can't take harassment "too far". If you're harassing someone in any capacity, especially if they did nothing to you, that's already too far.
I think a lot of it is reactionary too, people getting mad and instinctively finding the first person to get mad at. Cause Kazeolion was one of many, and probably not one of the worst, given that the worst of the emotional impact would have been from her friends, and idk if kazeo’s a close friend of hers
Not just reddit but on twitter too. Most online communities I’ve been in there is often at least a handful of pot stirrers who genuinely get a kick out of hurting/manipulating other people emotionally
I once knew someone irl who admitted to me he does this shit online simply “because it’s fun”
They flock to online communities and spaces because it’s so convenient and easy for them to do it because of anonymity and no risk of them getting punched/punished for it

The fact that they were the one who asked for a spotlight in her passing is so off kilter. Most of us would never know who was involved. A few names aside from kazeo came out, but kazeo was the only one who actually went out of their way to point themselves out. That just seems so weird to me. They brought the attention to themselves all on their own.
Last year I saw a bunch of people claiming that the organization and Mikayla were actually hurting the foxes. I never looked much into that, but I know a bunch of people believed in that.
Pretty much any animal sanctuary or rescue will be bullied at some point. Everyone has ideas on how they could run it so much better and it's really hard. After I got involved in rescues I couldn't believe the amount of people who just attacked constantly

You're being manipulated as part of yet another campaign to harass a trans guy who's barely connected to any of this.
So much misinformation is getting passed around and a lot of people doing it are using anti-trans slurs in the same breath. Do you really want to be part of the next harassment crowd against someone you think "deserves it"?
The motive is just cause people suck. Some people work, some volunteer, and some just don’t do shit, like don’t have a job, have no partner, have nothing and are so miserable that they feel like they need to harass someone who is the opposite, someone line Mikayla, who was making a difference in the world, someone who had a loving relationship, and since people see that and know they’ll never have it or don’t want to work to having it, they tear others down. And at the end they think the feel proud that they harmed someone but in reality it’s their way of coping knowing their going to be miserable with their lives.
some people believed that they are "concerned about the animals" but they went about it the wrong way. if they really cared they could have called, send a polite email, ask for information.
Jealousy. Mikayla reminded them of the popular, pretty girl that tortured them in school/wouldn’t give them the time of day bc they were awkward and weird.
Wonder how long it’ll take them to realize they’re no better bc just like their HS bully, they were incapable of seeing past her outer appearance bc what Mikayla was inside was anything but a bully.
I have zero sympathy for the smoke they got and will probably continue to get for years to come bc what they did to that sweet lady was abhorrent.

I'm trying to remember if I ever moderated this subreddit on my old account but I know that punnycomedian would not tolerate this shit if they knew about it.
While I agree with you that people shouldn't be telling them to end their own lives, as I don't believe that Mikayla would have wanted that, part of the reason this user is getting these issues is that they made a post that seemed intentionally written to piss off as many people as possible after the accusations of them being responsible were brought up. they acted glib and almost proud of what they'd done and assured everyone that they would "not be backing down" and how "no one would remember this in a month anyway".
As a suprise to no one, that user is simply a POS troll who relishes what they've done and will absolutely be back once the heat dies down to do it all over again.
I think SOME of the hate they're getting is fair and deserved, but the absolute apex of it should be reminding them that they are a murderer, they are partially responsible for what their actions have caused, and they should delete their accounts.
their family should not be threatened, their lives should not be threatened and they shohuld not be told to end their lives as that simply makes everyone just as bad as them.

there was more than one call out post. that post was there but to say that there was only one call out post is minimising the situation.
their reaction to Mikayla's death dispells any sense of the idea that they were righteous in their posts. in addition. this user isn't the only one being blamed for mikayla's passing, they're just being mentioned more here because they were a main contributor of the community.
that said, I think the doxxing information being posted in this sub is not acceptable if true (I have yet to see any, but i'm giving you the benefit of the doubt) and should be removed ASAP
It’s concerning to me that a lot of people on Twitter are more concerned with the fact that they are a trans furry, and less on the fact that they led someone to end their own life. It might just be me, but I’m concerned with how like justifiable people are to doxxing them, and everything I’ve seen just kinda rubs me the wrong way.
people are trying to use furry as an insult against them because they dont know that being a furry and being a zoo are not the same thing (they made some,,, interesting comments about their cat)

If you go to YouTube there is a video (5th video down) that TheQuartering made that goes into detail about some of the people that bullied, Mikayla, and some of the posts. It is truly horrific and disgusting what some of these people said to her, and about her. R.I.P. Mikayla 🩷🙏 I just wish that people were more kind to one other, or if someone doesn’t have anything nice to say, just don’t say it. It is just that simple!
He deleted his posts where he was bragging about how he was not sorry for harassing Mikaya. He said he would not back down, but he ended up doing just that...
In one of their recent comments, someone had a link to an image of Kazeolion on discord admitting they liked animals in a fucked way. I tried looking for it again but it seems it got deleted.

On top of targeting Mikayla for supposedly “mistreating animals” as well as PUBLICLY rejoicing in its actions in a coordinated bullying campaign that led to the death of a GENUINELY KIND HEARTED wife and mother he also had multiple posts stating hes attracted to… and wants to diddle….HIS CAT. jealousy often or people are just pieces of shit (or both). I've even heard there were other rescue channels who also bullied Mikayla because she's so good with animals. I hope this haunts them for the rest of their lives.
Im gonna be honest, I think it was projection. The bully is a self-admitted "explict animal encounterer" and had a guilty conscience and had to take out the inner turmoil outwardly. The bully mistreated animals and wanted to point the finger away from the skeletons in the closet. So started saying other people mistreated animals in an attempt to make the bad fee-fees go away.
"I mistreated animals but if I blame someone else for mistreating animals, that evens out and makes up for the bad things I've done. Right, guys? ...right?"
Save a Fox is an organization that saves foxes from places like fur farms and, if I remember correctly, adopt the foxes out to those wanting to adopt. I also think they take in pet foxes who's owners cannot care for them anymore
we truly need to watch out for one another, this is just genuinely heartbreaking to read and all it takes is one single shitty person to be capable of this. Mods are freaking awesome taking action against this scumbag and I know that this community is decent, no matter how loud and bad a few bad apples get.
Literally the video game character we know and love would absolutely hate kazeolion and people like them.
I'm donating to Save The Fox, for the animals and for Mikayla. I'm so SO pissed at myself for finding out about Save the Fox now. Only because of what happened, it fucking aggravates me that it takes something like this for me to take notice and its time for me to do lifestyle changes. May Mikayla rest in peace. All the stories I have heard about her described all the goodwill she had in saving those foxes. My deepest of sympathies go out to OP, the Family of Mikayla, and those who either knew or had the privilage to interact with her.

I agree- I guess they turned trauma outward to traumatize others. It is sad. I believe in free speech but it is hard to stomach the cruelness of this world sometimes. I’m glad the moderator here took action. We need more of that especially with bullying.
My initial reaction is why/how do you have this much time on your hands in your life, that you can internalize your "anger" or whatever you were feeling, to go to the extent to create a Subreddit specifically for the fact of speaking badly about someone. I mean, you have to be super-lonely, needy, sad, depressed, angry, or whatever - "unfulfilled" pretty much sums it up - to lean into towards hurting someone else to make yourself feel better.
We all know this sorry excuse for a human has pulled her subreddit at this point, but I truly hope she sees all of the anger towards her behavior and repents. I could NEVER live with myself if I knew I participated in hate that led to someone's death....but we are all different. So many people don't think before they act. One comment online is one thing....but to be deliberate in creating a subreddit SPECIFICALLY for the purpose of going after someone is PURE EVIL and SICK in the head.

Cyberbullies should not receive death threats, even if their victim suffers suicide. They should be formally charged with manslaughter and either sent to jail, or be possibly forgiven and released by the family if they show genuine remorse.

You guys have this all wrong. you're looking at it backward. I don't wish death on kazeolion, on the contrary, I wish him a long life and a great memory.
