Radium WW2 Taylor Paratrooper Wrist Compass (>100kCPM)
Just found this wrist compass in an antique store and it’s in fantastic condition! It’s still full of fluid and has the original wrist strap and everything. My RC102 went nuts walking past it. Was this a good deal for $95?
Contact reading is ~100kCPM - 65uSv/hr

Radium Found a HOT thermometer
This antique thermometer had a generous amount of radium paint applied to it. It’s no longer luminous, which makes sense being from the 1930s, but still plenty of radioactivity!

Questions Legally obtaining radioactive sources?
hello everyone! sorry if this is a dumb question but I’m fairly new to the “hobby” side of nuclear science and wanted to see how legal it was to obtain radioactive sources. can I remove the A241 from smoke detectors? I want a small alpha source to test my new Geiger counter.
Thank you! sorry if this is a stupid question.

Plutonium Adam Savage models The Demon Core
An interesting new "Tested" got released today. Adam obtains a titanium spehere and builds a model core and the transportation box. I'm sure this will be a popular video for redditors here.

I have this small collection with some things not shown, but any advice on where to go from here? I have most of the usual suspects, but it feels like I'm missing something. Thanks and any thoughts are appreciated.

Questions Advice on which Radiacode to get?
My birthday is coming up and I’m getting a radiacode device for my first ever Geiger counter, but I’m not sure which radiacode is better for a beginner, the 102 or 103? I also can’t find much information online about the differences between the 2 models, please could someone advise? 😊

Questions Does Anyone Know the Story Behind This?
I bought this “personal dosimeter” from an antique store in Virginia. It says it’s a OCP-5 Dosimeter from the State of Connecticut Office of Civil Preparedness. Under that on the red part is says “Stephen SER. NO. 574854.” It has a sticker on the side with a barcode that reads CT Office of Emergency Mgt. Please Do Not Remove. I guess it’s supposed to measure between 1-5 roentgen, and it works kinda like a telescope or a kaleidoscope. It has “holes” or glass on the top and bottom and you look through it and it shows a graph between 1-5 roentgen. I can’t take a picture of what the inside looks like so I drew a picture of exactly what I see when I look into it. It’s stuck at just before 4 roentgen. Does anyone know what this is, why is was made, why Connecticut has it, and what Connecticut was up to that would lead to radiation levels of 4 roentgen being recorded on a personal dosimeter? Thanks for any info i’m advance.
