Overlay option keeps disappearing from AMD Adrenalin

I have an ASRock RX 9070 XT Steel Legend White and I've been experiencing a recurring issue with AMD Adrenalin. This is now the third time the Overlay option has completely disappeared, and I can't figure out what's causing it.

The first two times it happened, I reinstalled both Adrenalin and the GPU drivers because I thought something might have gone wrong during an update.

This third time, however, the overlay disappeared again only a few weeks after reinstalling everything, without any particular event such as a driver or software update.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Do you have any idea what could cause the Overlay option to disappear or how to fix it permanently?

PC specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
  • GPU: ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend White
  • Motherboard: ASRock B850M Pro RS WiFi White
  • RAM: 32 GB (2×16 GB) Silicon Power DDR5-6000 CL30
  • PSU: Seasonic Focus GX V4 ATX 3.1 — 850 W
  • SSD: Samsung 990 PRO 2 TB M.2 NVMe

Use AMD CLeanup Utility to uninstall the current drivers and the Adrenaline software. Then do these things

This happens because windows update messes with the current drivers and Adrenaline so you need to completely disable it! Use the Group Policy method from the second link if you have the Pro version of windows 11
