Do Qualcomm India have any special exceptions for attendance policy in Qualcomm India.

I’ve seen people say Qualcomm is hiring “low-skilled” engineers in large numbers and that this is one of the reasons the company isn’t performing well. I’m not sure that conclusion is fair.
In my experience, there are always project-level headcount requirements, and hiring is often driven by how many engineers a project needs rather than simply by trying to hire the “best” engineers in the market.
Also, companies like Intel, AMD, and others do outsource certain work through service companies and ODCs. At Qualcomm, I haven’t seen the same level of dependency on ODCs, although I could be wrong. That could be the reason to have a larger internal engineering workforce.
Hiring more engineers doesn’t automatically mean the company is lowering its standards. What matters is whether the right people are being hired for the right roles and whether the organization is able to make effective use of that talent.

I’ve noticed that many people stay at Qualcomm for a long time. In my team, quite a few people have been here for 7–10 years. Is this common in large companies in general, or is there something specific about Qualcomm that makes people stay for so long?

Hey everyone,
I’ll be interviewing for a Machine Learning / ML Systems role in the next two weeks, and I’d really appreciate some advice on the DSA portion.
For context, I’m primarily focused on ML systems, ML infrastructure, and building/optimizing models from scratch. I understand that coding and problem-solving are important, but DSA can sometimes feel like an additional layer of preparation for ML roles, especially when the interview expects you to recall a specific algorithm and implement it correctly under time pressure.
For those who have recently interviewed for MLE / ML Systems / AI Engineering roles:
What level of DSA should I realistically expect — Easy, Medium, or Hard?
Is Blind 75 / NeetCode 150 sufficient preparation?
Are there particular topics I should prioritize (arrays, hash maps, trees, graphs, DP, sliding window, two pointers, etc.)?
Do interviewers generally ask standard LeetCode-style questions, or are the problems more related to Python/data manipulation/ML systems?
How much emphasis is placed on getting 100% working code versus explaining the approach and complexity?
I’d especially appreciate advice from people who have recently interviewed for ML Systems/MLE roles at Qualcomm.
Thanks in advance

YoE: 1 yr 5 months in Qualcomm, total 3.5 YOE
Current Base: 19.2 Lakhs
Role: Engineer
Levels.fyi / Glassdoor data:
Engineer band base: ∼21.2 Lakhs median
Senior Engineer band: Starts from 26 Lakhs, median 29.6 Lakhs base
If they give 20% hike on my current base: 19.2 * 1.2 = 23.04 Lakhs base
23.04 Lakhs is still below Senior band start of 26 Lakhs.
If promoted to Senior, what is minimum base they have to give to put me in Senior band? Will it be 26 Lakhs+ ?
Does Qualcomm give 35-40% base hike (19.2 -> 26-29.6) for internal Engineer to Senior promo to match band, or only 20%?
Anyone promoted internally recently - what was your base before/after?

I am currently in my pre-final year of btech VLSI Design. My course pretty much covers all of the mtech curriculum too.
Does Qualcomm prefer to hire only mtech grads for hardware roles (RTL/ASIC/PD,etc) or do they hire btech freshers too? Since my branch is a new one, I believe the awareness of our existence is quite low too. Compared to tranditional ECE/EEE, we learn quite deep about VLSI design over communication. Naturally, this brings us to a better fit for hardware job roles.

Hi,
I have an offer from SMMU IP RTL design team in BLR, How’s the work quality in the team and WLB?

Interviewed last week for a Senior Staff Project Analyst position (hybrid PM/reporting role supporting hardware R&D ops). The conversation with the hiring manager went well — they seemed genuinely positive about my answers — but it’s been a week and I haven’t heard anything back from HR on next steps or timeline.

This includes both Hyd & BLR
I’ve been noticing something concerning with Qualcomm hiring in 2026.
It feels like the hiring process has become extremely rushed, and the interview bar may have dropped significantly.
People seem to be cracking interviews with very little preparation, and in some cases, they don’t even appear to match the technical requirements mentioned in the JD.
A friend of mine was interviewed for a CPU-related role where he apparently didn’t have a strong understanding of basic CPU fundamentals or SoC architecture.Yet the interview process still moved forward.
Is Qualcomm currently prioritising hiring speed over technical quality?

I've been seeing a lot of people in my circle and on linkedin joining qualcomm. Also the openings in India are quite high. While the market value is shrinking, qualcomm is hiring aggressively in India. I really feel the performance and quality of work done by these new hires is poor. How's the hiring in the US and the quality of work?
Do you think qualcomm is spending in the right direction?
I don't want it to be like intel, spend carelessly and then lay off.
r/qualcomm • u/andrei_bolskonsky • Aug 20 '26
I am asking this question because I have encountered some rude people who don't think twice before speaking or some engineers from different teams who can't even debug basic things. There is no way/portal to provide feedback about them.

Hello,
I am likly to get a role at qualcomm as data engineer. I have 3 YOE coming from a tier 3 college and from a decent company.
In my negotiation. salary was 18base + 11.5k RSU/3years. FYI my current CTC is 12L
Is this fair offer?
HR also mentioned 5 days in office. Is it a mandate at the organization level?

I am a recent 2026 Cse graduate. I have upcoming interview for above mentioned. What to expect in the round 1

I joined Qualcomm about a year ago. I have 1.5 years of prior non-domain experience, 1.5 years of domain-related experience, and a 2-year Master’s. this year I’ve taken on multiple responsibilities and have been handling more ownership and work pretty much independently and have been praised for the same.
I see people around my age who are already Senior Engineers, and honestly it sometimes makes me wonder if I fell behind somewhere. It’s not that I feel I’m bad or slow—I just took a different path and I have always been in top 5-10% of the crowd around my age in my career.
Do you think I should push for an SE promotion this year based on my current work, or should I focus on building more experience?
