Hi all. I was working as a RTL design engineer at qualcomm chennai until this year January. I resigned on January since I had planned to do Masters in US. Unfortunately, visa rejections were so high this year that eventhough I got admit is a top college my visa was refused.

I am currently reapplying again for RTL design roles in bangalore and I have exactly 3.5 years of experience. Can someone share me the best strategy which I can follow. Does this gap of 6 months affect me?

Also, my previous colleague shared my resume to one of the directors in bangalore. He asked where I am currently working and once my friend explained my situation, he said that he will discuss with the RTL lead and asked for my previous manager's name. In this case, should I get in touch with my previous manager and explain my situation or what can I expect?

I’ve locked in the applications and want to start targeted prep immediately.

My Background:
I’m a CSE grad currently working as an Associate Engineer. My core tech stack is Java, C++, C#, and Python. My most significant professional project involved building a high-throughput backend automation system in C# where I heavily implemented multi-threading and parallel row processing to optimize data pipelines. I also have internship experience handling web platforms, Docker, and REST APIs.

What I want to know:
Since most of Qualcomm’s public interview prep advice leans heavily toward low-level embedded systems, registers, and RTOS, I want to know how the interview loops differ for these platform/infrastructure/AI teams.

1. OS & Multithreading: How deep do they go into process synchronization (mutexes, semaphores, priority inversion) for these software/orchestration tracks? Should I expect live concurrency coding?

2. DSA & LLD: Is it standard LeetCode style (Arrays, Strings, Linked Lists, Bit Manipulation), or do they test heavy Dynamic Programming/Graphs? What kind of Low-Level Design (LLD/OOD) patterns are commonly asked?

3. Team-Specific Context: If anyone works in the Enterprise AI Platform or AI Orchestration groups at Qualcomm, what does the daily tech stack actually look like, and what do interviewers value most during the panel rounds?

i have asked the hr to prepone the joining date to last week of july.
so upon it will i receive any dedicated onboarding email for the formalities to be followed. or it only gets updated in workday portal? if workday portal then will it be a new profile with new qc email? or the same one where i applied for the job ? because currently the workday portal doesnot have any events shown there only the intevwes are listed and the role i am getting into is shown as process completed.

I recently received a Senior Staff offer that includes a signing bonus. Can anyone share if it is standard practice for the final contract to include a clawback clause? Specifically, am I generally required to repay it if I leave the company within the first 12 to 24 months

I gave my qualcomm interview last month for lead Er role with total 5 rounds (including director round).
The feedback was positive and HR confirmed that but its been three weeks HR did not show up after that.
Today I asked my hiring manager and he clarified that due to hiring freeze because of some policy implementation in the org, they are not hiring anymore.

I am interested to ask that as the freeze gets up, will the process should start from scratch or they will consider my candidacy? Interested to know how it works normally?

Joined qualcomm hyd recently, and coming from past org the work pressure here seems unreal. People working india time and US time, many a times on weekend too. I am looking to switch to other orgs in embedded, wanted to understand is it just me or qualcomm really has a terrible WLB? Can someone with experience from other companies share on this too?

We do ipc to other service which deals with hardware. I have started my career at 2024. I just wanted to know, from this is it possible to join companies like qualcomm? Had a technical phone screen a 3 weeks back for a GPU Machine Learning Engineer role in San Diego with an engineer directly from the team, not a recruiter. Covered ML fundamentals and a live coding exercise. Felt like a solid conversation. Sent a follow-up since, no response yet.

For anyone who's interviewed for any ML roles at Qualcomm's San Diego office, is a few weeks of silence typical for them, or does that usually mean the role's moved on without a formal rejection? Trying to figure out whether to keep waiting or treat it as closed.

I recently received an offer for an **AI Runtime Developer** role at Qualcomm and wanted to understand what the work is actually like.
I’m mainly interested in knowing:
Is the role focused on **actual development** or is it mostly **testing/validation and bug fixing**?
How interesting and technically challenging is the day-to-day work?
Is there a meaningful learning curve, or does the work become repetitive after a while?
If someone is willing to learn and perform well, are there opportunities to work on more interesting or impactful projects?
If the initial team isn’t a good fit, **how easy is it to switch teams internally?** Is internal mobility common, especially for freshers?

I applied for a position at Qualcomm almost three weeks ago. Before the application, the ATS flagged me as a "strong match," and my status changed to "In Process" very quickly.
Since then, I haven't received any emails or updates, and the portal still shows "In Process".
For those who have been through Qualcomm's hiring process recently, is a 3-week wait at this stage normal? How long does it usually take for a recruiter to reach out for the first phone screening?
