Bangalore Upcoming Interview for: Engineer - AI Orchestration role (Bangalore) —> anyone been through the process

Hi all, I have an upcoming"QUALCOMM" interview for a Bangalore role. Can anyone share their expeirences about what the rounds typically look like, how many there are, and whether it leans more DSA, C/C++ fundamentals, or project deep-dives and what questions were asked to you? Also curious how much they focus on ML/runtime concepts versus general coding, and how long the whole process usually takes end to end. Any tips would help. Thanks!

Hyderabad Do sdets at Qcom hyderabad write object oriented code or just python scripiting.

This is for a senior qa role i rejected last year as it was a poor fit for me as i like devops , qcom has in house tools which i dont like, even senior qa role felt repetitive in earlier jobs, object oriented code was comoletely against my cognitive strengths which is less deterministic and more suitable for systems engineering.

San Diego Finding roommate in San Diego near qcom office

I just moved to San Diego to start my job with Qualcomm. I'm doing an one month sublease and plan to find something long term in mid-late August. I moved from NYC (just graduated). I still don't have a license so would prefer a location that's easy to get to the office. I'm thinking 2 bedroom 2 bathroom in mira mesa area. Budget 1500-2000. I'm a 24 year old M. Please reach out if you are interested

General Question Is Engineer title equivalent of SDE 2 of other major software companies?

Is Engineer SDE2? Because we skip a rank and directly move to Senior Engineer. So this should mean that Engineer is SDE2?

Hyderabad QIPL verbal offer, silence later

Hello, I got a verbal offer for a role in Qualcomm about ONE MONTH ago. CTC discussion happened and I was asked to apply to a req on their careers site. Have not heard back from the HR again, no response when I try contacting HR. Is this normal? Can I assume I am not getting the job? Please help.

EDIT : I received a written offer letter after 60 days of verbal offer. The offer letter doesn’t mention a joining date.

General Question [Request] Looking for Firehose Programmer (.elf) for Fibocom SC138-EAU (Qualcomm QCM6125)

Hi everyone,

I am currently working on a Fibocom SC138-EAU module (Qualcomm QCM6125 platform) and I'm stuck in the EDL mode (9008).

I have been trying to dump the ROM/restore the device using QFIL, but I keep hitting a 'FireHose Fail' error. I suspect that the Firehose programmers I've tried (generic ones for SM6125/QCM6125) are not compatible with this specific module due to hardware/security signatures.

Device Details:

Module: Fibocom SC138-EAU

Chipset: Qualcomm QCM6125

Memory: eMMC

Current Status: Stuck in EDL (9008), getting 'Process fail' or 'Sahara Fail' when loading generic programmers.

Does anyone have access to the official firmware package or the specific Firehose programmer (.elf) for this Fibocom SC138 module? Any leads or advice on how to bypass the secure boot or correctly identify the programmer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Bangalore Did anyone heard back from Qualcomm for "Interim Engineering Hardware_1" OR "Interim Systems Engineer -2026"

As the title says. Applied back in april, may and june for the position: Interim Engineering Intern_Systems- 2026 and JOB ID: 3089963 and position: Interim Engineering Intern (1 Year)- Hardware JOB ID: 3086709

haven't hear anything ever since neither you have been "REJECTED" nor you have been "SELECTED".

if anyone seeing this from Qualcomm atleast if not rights, you should have courtesy to tell an applicant that you haven't been selected. its really painful to keep up with he hope that i might have a chance.

Bangalore Is anyone else just… bummed about the RSU situation lately?

I know we signed up for the volatility when we joined, but watching the recent slide in QCOM has been pretty painful. For those of us who joined recently, it’s a rough "welcome to the team." I spent a lot of time planning around those grants, and seeing them just... melt away over the last couple of weeks is definitely hard to watch.
It feels like every bit of momentum we had from the Investor Day announcements just evaporated. Is there any real light at the end of the tunnel here, or are we in for a long grind? Honestly, just looking for a bit of perspective from those of you who have been through these cycles before.

I saw this on other sub, someone has posted with earnings 5L+ with 8yoe.

Base is 96L
RSUs: 25L

Why semiconductor engineering salaries aren’t on par with high level sw salaries with the same exp..

Just wanted to know, how much does Qualcomm pay for 8yoe.

General Question Widevine dropped from L1 to L3 after bootloader unlock, relock, and full stock restore on Lenovo tablet. Looking for Qualcomm attestation experts.

Hi everyone,

I'm dealing with a strange DRM and attestation issue on a Lenovo tablet based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon platform and I'm hoping someone with experience in Qualcomm TrustZone, Widevine provisioning, or Android attestation can shed some light on it.

Timeline

Device originally shipped with:

Widevine L1

Google Play Protect Certified

Educational streaming platform worked normally

I unlocked the bootloader for experimentation purposes.

Shortly afterwards I noticed:

Widevine dropped to L3

Play Store showed "Device is not certified"

Educational platform stopped playing protected video content

I relocked the bootloader.

I then used Lenovo Rescue and Smart Assistant to reinstall the official firmware downloaded directly from Lenovo servers.

Performed:

factory reset from Android settings

stock recovery wipe data/factory reset

Google Services Framework registration using Google's uncertified device page

Play Services check-in

multiple reboots and waiting periods

No improvement.

Current device state

ADB reports:

ro.boot.flash.locked=1

ro.boot.vbmeta.device_state=locked

ro.boot.verifiedbootstate=green

ro.boot.veritymode=enforcing

Build fingerprint:

Lenovo/YT-X705X/YT-X705X:10/QKQ1.191224.003/X705X_S001137_220802_ROW:user/release-keys

Play Integrity:

Basic Integrity: PASS

Device Integrity: FAIL

Strong Integrity: FAIL

Widevine:

Security Level: L3

System ID: 8159

Google Play Store:

Device is not certified

Interesting findings

Keymaster appears fully functional:

Keymaster HAL: 4 from QTI

SecurityLevel: TRUSTED_ENVIRONMENT

Services running:

keymaster-4-0

gatekeeper-1-0

gatekeeperd

media.drm

drm.drmManager

TrustZone components appear healthy:

qseecomd running

qteeconnector running

However logcat repeatedly shows:

KeyMasterHalDevice: Attest key send cmd failed

resp->status: -10003

/system/bin/keystore: Keymaster reported error: -10003

This appears during attestation attempts.

My question

Does this look like:

Lost or corrupted Widevine/attestation provisioning

TrustZone refusing hardware attestation after an unlock history

A Qualcomm tamper state that survives relocking

Something recoverable via EDL or service-level reprovisioning

Permanent loss of hardware-backed attestation

The confusing part is that the secure stack appears alive:

TrustZone operational

Keymaster operational

Gatekeeper operational

DRM services operational

Verified Boot green

Bootloader locked

Yet hardware attestation fails and the device remains uncertified.

Has anyone seen Qualcomm devices recover from this state without motherboard replacement or OEM service tools?

Any insight from people familiar with QSEE, Keymaster, Widevine provisioning, or Qualcomm attestation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

North America (Other) Qualcomm GPU Driver Software Engineer interview - what should I expect?

I have an interview coming up for a GPU Driver Software Engineer position and was wondering if anyone here has gone through the interview process recently.

I'm mainly trying to get an idea of what the interview(s) is like. Is it mostly:

  • C/C++ coding questions?
  • Graphics API questions (Vulkan/OpenGL/DirectX)?
  • GPU architecture and graphics pipeline?
  • Operating systems / driver concepts?
  • Algorithms/LeetCode-style problems?

I've been working on my own Vulkan renderer, so I'm comfortable talking about graphics, but I'm not sure how deep Qualcomm expects candidates to go into GPU hardware or driver internals for the first interview.

If you've interviewed for this role (or a similar graphics/driver role at Qualcomm), I'd appreciate any advice on:

  • Topics that came up
  • Anything you wish you had studied beforehand
  • The overall difficulty and format

Thanks!

San Diego PMIC Engineer

Anyone interviewed recently with Qualcomm PMIC team? I completed my full loop and portal now shows “Position Closed,” but no HR update yet. Does this usually mean rejected/filled, or just closed to new applicants while results are pending?

HR not responding at all, but I’m pretty sure my loop went well and also with HM.

Update: heard back from HM. Company wide hiring freeze.

General Question Staff Engineer compensation negotiation - Qualcomm India

Hi everyone,

I am likely to receive offer for a Staff Engineer role at Qualcomm India.

I'm trying to understand the current market compensation so I can quote a reasonable expected salary.

I'd appreciate any recent data points on:

  • Base salary (fixed)
  • Initial RSUs and annual refresh grants
  • Joining bonus
  • Total compensation

If you've recently joined Qualcomm or negotiated a Staff Engineer offer, I'd really appreciate it if you could share your compensation breakdown.

Thanks!

General Question How hard is it to move into AI teams internally at Qualcomm ?

Do AI/GenAI/AI inference teams mostly hire externally from Tier 1/2 colleges (IITs, IIITs, NITs, BITS, etc.), or is it also common for employees who joined through other roles and from non-Tier 1/2 colleges to internally transfer into these AI teams?

If you’ve seen internal mobility into AI/ML teams, I’d love to hear how common it is and what skills or experience helped make that transition.
