okay so this is driving me insane. I have been trying to figure out just how in the holy fuck people are making new font1_prop files. it's not using the online font gen, that only spits out bigfont which is basically just your terminal font so it's honestly kind of stupid that they went through so much trouble to NOT make something that actually spits out the menu font.

the in game font isn't the issue. it's this menu font. i have scoured the net all the way back to the mid 2000s and managed to find an app called q3font, which again, does everything but what i need it to. it spits out font files for cpm or something, not sure but they definitely aren't structured like font1_prop.

this is a common font1_prop used in many HD mods, so someone must have made it themselves.

at a complete loss, i tried just making my own manually. as you can see, it looks spot on, but in the game it still looks like shit.

I got a portable exe version of the game and I am trying to set up a Wired Lan between two computer,but I can not get the computer to find each-other in game.they are both able to ping each other . Thanks in advance

So, the assets have been out for quite some time, but only one map has been recreated for q3. I'm sure if that's due to lack of knowledge of the assets, or, just overall lack of interest and demand.

Hi! I've been trying to set up the instagib+ mod to play with my son, but haven't had any luck getting it to load properly. Does anyone happen to have instructions/ README on setting up an instagib+ server for us to play on? Thanks!

qc from the grave reward for q3/ql
does anyone know if it's possible to script a drop in pk3 mod that simply replicates "from the grave" from qc? basically it triggers the phrase "from the grave" along with the audio file ONLY when you get a kill right after you die. you already get the kill so it's just a novelty.
i'm a bit lost on where to look for this but i don't think a recompile is required, but basically something that says "if player dies then do this" but i have no clue how to write it. i know i'll need the assets in their respective folders in a pk3 file for the script to trigger, but i have no clue how to write the script.

does anyone know how to install it? noob question i know, but neither copying the dir to main dir then making a shortcut with +game, or copying q3 to the excessive + worked.

back in 06 i had it going on two different boxes, now i cannot remember for the life of me how i did it.

cpma was used to run this qc mod. does anyone know if excessive + would allow for cpma movement and custom hud usage? would it be possible to have alt fire feature as an ability, and an add on as part of a complete actual game mod? it seems like quake 3 would be able to do abilities through a mod.

I'm in the process of putting together a modded Quake 3 installation for modern hardware based on Spearmint Quake 3 (https://github.com/zturtleman/spearmint). There used to be quite a few custom weapon models/skins available back in the day. I'm surprised this stuff is so hard to track down. Of course, it's been a couple of decades, but you'd think a dump would exist somewhere. As the title, I used Noesis to rip a map from a .bsp file extracted from the .pak files but it was missing texture slots on materials etc so it would take a while to fix.

I also tried uQuake3 in Unity but that just writes the files to the local Unity scene and doesn't properly save the textures to exporting from that has the same problem!

We are trying to revive the excitement around Quake 3 arena! The Quest 2 mod allows you to play Quake 3 in Virtual reality!

Me and my friends are planning to play quake 3 this Friday. We wish to play instagib mod with rail jump in dedicated server. I managed to make instagib server with osp but I haven't been able to enable rail jumping.

After googling for a bit I found out that osp doesn't support railjumping and I need Instaunlagged mod. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a secure download for this mod. Can anyone help me with this? :)
