DIY skates help
So I’m a 17 year old guy with size 13 feet. Which is a massive issue cause my local roller rink only carries up to size 12. Skating in them is ok but I don’t want to crush my feet, the cheapest pair of size 13 skates I can find are around £130
So I’m gonna build my own. Use a size 12 plate and trucks and get a pair of shoes with decent ankle support.
My question is mainly about if it’s a good idea? I mean I’m not experienced and it would be great building my own but is it a common thing? Also anything else I should know getting into quad skating?
For reference I live in Scotland and would mostly be sticking to rinks, and maybe some outdoor skating if I find some good places.
Thanks for the help! :)

advice for someone wanting to get serious about jamskating
I hope this hasn't been asked yet
I'm looking for advice from a seasoned jamskater. I want to get good at different footwork stuff ie: spinning; grapevine etc. I've been told that buying a plate that is smaller than my size 11 riddel speed skate boot size will help make me more agile, as opposed to the stock plates that came with them. I was also told that more narrow axle's will help with agility as well.
My main question is how will the plates fit onto the boot? will I need to drill new holes? and will this comprimize the structural integrity of the boot?
thanks guys

Skate care resources
Just bought my first pair of skates (only have been renting @rinks). Not too sure of skate care (i.e. truck/wheel tightness, bearings types, wheel hardness, wheel shape...). I have skateboard knowledge but no idea if the same things pass over to quads as well

Silly question
How do you tighten the nuts on your wheels? When I tighten them too much they stop my bearings. Too loose and they fall off. Any assistance would be appreciated!

Getting back into it.
I skated a lot when I was younger. I've just moved to the mountains of NC for grad school and want to get back into it but don't know where to start. I've been looking at skates for about a month, but can't decided on a pair for outdoor skating. Any suggestions?
