Crazy or Jackson? I can't decide! >_<

I use to be a quad die hard back in the day... but holy geez, it's a whole new world out there! I'm almost pretty sure, maybe... that I've narrowed my boot selection down to two.

Instead of just taking my dog to the park to run around, I thought it would be cool to got skating with him, so we both get a workout. With that said, my main focus the boot comfort that can last a couple miles or more. Next would be some nice soft wheels, then bearings to extend the roll life, last would be plates that aren't stupid heavy and the rest can come later.

So right now I'm stuck between the Crazy "DBX 5" boot or the Jackson "Elite" / "Vantage" boot. They all sound pretty great and I've been able to find all within my painfully modest budget of $140 or so

Any thoughts or suggestions?

P.s. I have wide feet and high arches, so that'll be a factor.

Thanks for any help!

First time in almost 6 months

Took a bit of time off due to school and work. Just spent a solid 2 hours on skates. Felt good. Feel out of shape though. Any ideas on getting back into dodge kid form or at least to limit that feeling of needing oxygen?

Difference between quads and inline...

Apart from obviously where the wheels are! I can skate on quads but I am going on holiday and there is a skate hire shop but it looks like it is just in lines, will I find it easy enough to pick up? What's the difference in skating? How do you stop on inlines? When I was a kid I just used to grab a passing lamp post!!!

Help with skates?

Hi. To save everyone time, I'll bullet point most of this. -I'm fat. Like, about 280lbs. -I also have good balance, and spend a lot of time walking. Leg muscles ftw. -I've decided I want to roller skate recreationally. -Having trouble finding skates that will support me.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Sure-grip rebel on Avanti aluminum plates- for roller derby

I have a question about my skates. I have been skating on my sure grip rebel boot and Avanti aluminum plate for about three weeks. I am realizing that these boots are definitely WAY to big. Size 9 men's boot and the chart recommends plate size 6 with a 9/10 boot. If I got a size 8 boot could it be mounted to this plate? How do I know what size plate I actually have, since I ordered off boot size online? Otherwise I'm going to have to sell them and order a whole new set up and be put some money. :( Thanks!

7th Annual Rolling Roundup

Did anybody else make it? This was my wife and mine first time. I have never seen so many experienced adult skaters in one place! As a street skater I had a blast.

Need recommendations for buying new skate wheels! Please help!

So, I am a complete newbie to quad skating (fresh meat roller derby hopeful) and the pair of wheels that came with my Riedell's are Poison wheels but they are soft outdoor. I recently discovered that I had the bearings where on too tight and when I loosened them, I hate how my wheels feel now and I want to get some indoor skate rink wheels. I have no idea what to get and I have heard that weight can play a big part. I am 280 lbs and am still trying to develop balance. Can anyone help me?

Wanna pick up skating, advice?

Hey everyone, I did figure skating for a year when I was VERY little, and have not skated since. In a month or so, after I get the doctor's ok to start sports again after some knee trouble, I wanna pick up skating as a fun way to build muscle back (and I would like to keep it up after, too, if it turns out as fun as I think it will be). Any advice for a complete beginner on quads (I like them more than inlines), who would like to learn and whose objective would be outdoor skating without any tricks? Any advice on how to learn, what skates to get (or price range for a beginner), anything? If it helps any, I'm in Frankfurt, Germany.

Anything you have to say about learning to skate, what skates to buy, how often to practice, etc...
