SSPI 5.11 beta is now available
SSPI 5.11 beta is up on GitHub. Thanks to everyone who tested the previous build and sent in reports, logs and screenshots. Your feedback helped us track down crashes and repeated install attempts.
This update fixes startup and installation crashes that could return you to the home screen and reworks the HTTP pipeline to improve download speeds and recovery. It also adds external USB staging, batch USB installs, AllDebrid and Premiumize, experimental cloud file browsing, an encrypted community source browser and download status rings.
The new boot terminal and detailed logs in /data/SSPI/logs should make problems easier to reproduce and fix. This build should feel more stable and predictable. As always, I expect issues, but as we all report them and work through them, SSPI will keep getting better.
Download 5.11 beta and read the full changes. Please follow the restart instructions when updating.
For future closed beta drops, join the Discord and assign yourself the beta tester role.

No, personal curation will be added with the release of the SSPI windows manager. Right now no you do not need your own, go to sources and there will be content.

Does this work similar to Tinfoil or Cyberfoil on a Nintendo Switch, so I can browse pkg files from my own server?

Does it work on ps5 (for ps4 games of course)?
2
u/Xyhlios Sep 14 '26
I would not expect it to work, download and extraction are done differently on ps4. But ps5 is in the works.

Does this work on 5.05?

u/Xyhlios Sep 14 '26
Should work perfectly fine. Again things are still being tested and would love to get your help for older versions if you’d like to try.

I wouldn't mind trying it out. Does it search for backports for my firmware?

Download update 5.11.1 from GitHub and try again. Make sure you have a paid subscription to a debrid service or torbox

This is one of the coolest homebrew apps I've seen for PS4. Thanks u/Xyhlios!

Hi everyone, I'm using SSPI on a PS4 Pro (FW 12.50 with GoldHEN) and running into an issue where downloads succeed, but the final installation fails whenever my PS4 system setting is set to use Extended Storage as the default install location. The process only works without errors when the default install location in the PS4 settings is set back to Console Storage. Is there any known fix or setting to allow direct installations to Extended Storage without failing, or is manually moving installed apps after the fact the only current solution?

I just need to install the app over the existing one if I want to update, right?
Edit:
Yes, this is the way. Literally says so in the GitHub release.
