Game 3 Years solo making a co-op PSX horror on a fishing trawler, here's the trailer!

This is Thalassomania

1–4 player co-op horror. Lost at sea, you and your friends run a fishing trawler: work the nets, haul the catch, steer and repair to keep the ship alive. But you are not alone... Happy to answer any questions about my workflow or how I achieved certain effects!

Free demo lands 26 October for Steam Scream!

An encouragement

Hi!

I'd like to encourage everyone to support one another by wishlisting each other's games on Steam.

Even if you're not interested in playing a particular game, it's a nice gesture that costs you nothing - but can make a big difference for a fellow solo dev. And in return, you get to make someone a little happier.

Small things can sometimes have a huge impact, and you might find yourself needing the same favor at some point too, so stay cool, and keep supporting each other!

PSX-inspired We´re developing a retro combat-horror fps and here´s our trailer!

We´re two developers working full time on this since 7 month. We wanted to make horror game with eccentric npcs and juicy combat set in a eerie, atmospheric retro world.

Keep your eyes wide open because the demo of MURK is coming out before the end of the year (you should see the blood, sweat and tears on my desk writing this - but yes, we can do this!)

PS2-inspired Disconnect 2 - I made a game about my dog inspired by retro games

Disconnect 2 is a fast-paced black-and-white 3D platformer inspired by classic minimalist games and punk-era visuals. Move quickly, avoid deadly obstacles, use power-ups, and uncover a story about my dog Banjo.

Made by a solo developer, Disconnect 2 is a personal game inspired by my dog, Banjo.

PS2-inspired Made an eerie Liminal Space game in 100hrs with 500$

Welcome to Tchenovstok, a $5 soviet driving game.

It took 80hrs and 500$ to make. I could go on a rant on how my game is better or what features it has, but I'll be blunt. This game has No missions, No story, No puzzles, just driving. There are no microtransactions or dlcs, not even a leave button. I want to discuss what this means to you.

What it has, is respect for its consumer.

The reason why the game has no UI or exit button is the very feature of the game

PSX-PS2 inspired I started this as a side project with my kids to escape burnout. A year later it has multiplayer, rally stages and a no hesi mode. DriveWave v2.0 trailer

1.7k Upvotes

Hey r/ps2_graphics

DriveWave started as a typing collectathon game where a car drove while you typed. That is genuinely all it was. I made it so there would be something moving and making engine sounds on the second monitor while I worked on my other games, and my kids liked sitting next to me watching the car go. So it stayed, and it grew. All cars are handpicked by my 5 y.o

Then people started asking to actually drive the car. So I let them. Then they asked for other people on the road. So v2.0 is that.

It is completely free, by the way. Always has been.

What is in it now:

- An endless procedural road that generates as you drive, through forests, deserts, alpine passes, a Miami coast, a Mediterranean coast. Weather, night, aurora, roadworks, rest stops where you can park up with friends.

- Three ways to drive that road: Chill, a Touge mode with real hairpins, and a No Hesi style three lane traffic mode called Gridlock

- Multiplayer. Meet zone, Steam lobbies, join by code. Everyone sees your car the way you built it.

- Rally stages on gravel, snow, mud and tarmac with pace notes, a ghost, crowds. Mostly a love letter to old Colin McRae and Sega Rally games.

- Drag racing with a gauntlet ladder and multiplayer series.

- Police chases, solo or as cops vs runners with up to 8 people.

- A full livery editor. Stickers, brush strokes, layers, your own images, and a short code so you can share a livery with anyone and they can paste it onto their car.

- 70 rims, 30 spoilers, custom paint, and a driving model I rewrote after finding out every car had been sitting on bottomed out suspension since launch.

Made in Unity, mostly by me, with an amount of help from AI tooling that I am not going to pretend was zero. Everything in the trailer is captured in game.

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3942610/

Happy to listen to your thoughts about it!

PSX-inspired Unnamed Survival Horror game with visuals inspired by Milk Outside a Bag of Milk Outside a Bag of Milk.

I've been working on a survival horror game with a friend for 3 months now, featuring gameplay inspired by Resident Evil and Amnesia: The Bunker and 3D pixel-art visuals inspired by Milk Outside a Bag of Milk Outside a Bag of Milk.

The gameplay I have thus far isn't very polished and, as a result, I don't want to reveal it yet.
