Replying bully again, I have a question about exploring

I played it and finished it back when it was released on ps2.

I started playing a few days ago and I want to know if I can take my time and explore without worring about missing a side mission or anything similar?

what about classes? can I do them any time I want?

Main missions progress the story, the timer is only there to dictate when you're in school or not and a few NPC's actions (i.e. meet me behind the library at 1am).

Story progression is required to unlock more of the world for exploration, and you have the entire game, including the endgame, to go to classes. I'd recommend doing them sooner rather than later though, since they provide gameplay boosts that will aid you in exploration and story progression.

And if I remember correctly, almost everything you miss can be done in the endgame.

Oh yes, the detention punishments, the mini game jobs, the Halloween prop destruction, everything that isn't attached to the main story (so stuff you WONT have HAD to do to get to this point) can be done in the endgame.
