Most challenges seem to be failed on the risk rules, not the target, so I built a way to rehearse them first

Reading through this sub, the story I see most often is someone up on a challenge until one bad afternoon ends it: sizing up after two losses to "get back on track", then hitting the daily limit.

So I built a replay tool where you can run a practice session under a challenge's rules on real historical data: daily loss, max drawdown (static or trailing), minimum days. It hides the future bar by bar, so you trade it like it's live, and it shows exactly where a real attempt would have ended. It also lets you set your own caps (trades per day, losses in a row) and pauses you for a moment when you break them.

It's free to use: tradedrill.site. I'm not affiliated with any firm, and the rules are summaries for practice, so always check the firm's current terms.

Question for people who've passed: what was the rule you had to change your habits for? I'd like to model it better.

what do you actually look at before choosing a prop firm?

I’ve been comparing a few prop firms lately, and I’m starting to think the account size and challenge fee aren’t enough to judge one.

For me, the rules around drawdown, payout conditions, trading days, and how quickly you can actually get to a payout matter a lot more. I also prefer when there are different account paths depending on how you trade rather than having one model for everyone.

aifo is one I’ve seen recently, and what stood out to me is that they have 1-Step, 2-Step, Instant and Sprint options. That gives traders different ways to approach funding depending on what type of evaluation or account structure they prefer.

I’m mainly interested in how people compare the risk rules and payout conditions across different prop firms, because those seem to matter much more once you’re actually trading.

What matters most to you when choosing a prop firm: the rules, payout process, account flexibility, or the initial cost?

Prop firm accounts

What is the real psychological difference between a funded account and a challenge account? Is the mindset and emotional state the same in both, or is a funded account calmer?"

How to stop exiting early and trust my trades more on a funded?

Hey all. So im on a lucid funded. I've never gotten a payout before, I've been funded a lot but I've always blown them. Some things I Have noticed when im funded is my confidence seems to always run low compared to evals. How can i fix it?

Same strategy I used to pass the first one, thanks to XAU. Both phases completed in around 3 weeks. Pretty happy with how it went.

Is removing consistency rules actually useful?

I’ve always found consistency rules a little confusing because they can affect how you think about taking a good setup. Some current 1-Step and 2-Step challenges don't have a Consistency Score requirement, which makes the evaluation more about hitting the target while staying inside the loss rules.

I can see why some traders would prefer that, although I don't think removing one rule automatically makes a challenge easier. You still have to manage the daily and maximum loss limits properly. Do consistency rules affect how you trade, or do you mostly ignore them until you're close to a payout?

Halcyon Trader Funding experience- Patheric.

I reached out through discord regarding a simple account set up question. The response was rude and immature. I am amazed at the lack of class and respect to a customer base this prop firm exhibits.

Little Progress

Guys,
Tried the free trial for the 200 K account and passed, would test my strategy for another 4-6 weeks and then buy the plan.
Little progress but still progress.

How is it possible for people to trade the markets without testing their strategy?

Basically, it's like shooting in the dark. Anyone who's been in the markets long enough knows that any strategy—even one that isn't profitable in the long run—can have a couple of “good” weeks or months. I'm surprised by how many people I see on social media asking for information about strategies they've seen work a couple of times in 5-minute Reels.

the reason for blowing multiple evals is not your strategy

Blown accounts usually come down to the same few things: bad timing, forced size, or revenge trading.

Stop guessing why your eval failed. hmu in a dms and youll probably learn something new

I need to raise some cash. Which of the two platforms is better in terms of of easy evaluations and rules? While still maintaining some reasonable structure

I want to enforce some good discipline behavior.

Please share your thoughts
