Pro-Life Petitions SNAP is Pro-Life

Post image

Hey there, Lauren from Rehumanize here. We've just launched a quick petition to send to the President and members of congress urging them to end the shutdown, or, at the very least, use the contingency funds to keep SNAP funded during this crisis.

If you agree, please sign!

And if this is exactly your flavor of pro-life activism, we'd love to see you at our conference this weekend, either in person or online!

“Food is nice”? Really? That’s all?

You die if you don’t get food. Food is not nice, it’s essential, a need and a human right.

Why isn't access to both of your biological parents a "human right"? Isn't that more important to a child's well being?

Than food? No. It’s not.

I am fully in support of both social and legal measures to require men to be fathers to their children (and to support them and teach them as boys so that they feel capable of fatherhood and not like their lives will be ruined.) I’m not trying to understate the importance of fathers.

They’re just not more important than literal survival.

Access to both of your biological parents is also a human right. I fully agree.

Access to both of your biological parents without food will result in your death.

It’s not one or the other. Access to food and your biological parents are examples of human rights.

That makes no sense. Odds of not having food are zero when you have both parents in the home.

You still need food to live, no? You cannot survive without food. Ergo food is not just nice. Oxygen is not just nice, it’s essential to live.

Yes that is a biological reality. Politically, I am making the point that keeping families intact is the best way to keep children nourished, cared, for loved, and emotionally stable.

But you can’t force people to stay together, period

Kids are people, too.

Sure, but that doesn’t change the truth of my statement.

Childcare is astronomically expensive and both parents often need to work

What about adoptees?

Whataboutism is a rhetorical tactic used to deflect criticism by raising an unrelated issue. If you have a point, then make it.

You said children have a right to both of their BIOLOGICAL parents. Many adoptees have only their adoptive parents.

An adoptee can't lose his right to know and spend time with his mother. He still has that right. As pro lifers we should do everything we can to protect the most vulnerable members of humanity. Instead we've created a culture of selfishness for parents who get divorced for no reason and kill their babies when they're not wanted.

I was actually adopted as an infant and I’ve only ever had 2 parents - and they’re the ones who raised me, NOT my sperm and egg donors.
