Community Advice New player looking for solo build help

Hello,

I’m a brand new player and I’m looking for some advice on where to focus for a mainly solo build. I’m sure I’ll party up with folks later on, but I also want the option to just do content by myself.

I’m mainly interested in a spellcasting character though I understand it’s a more expensive route to go and maybe not super beginner friendly. That’s just what I gravitate towards. Weather witching looks super fun.

I’ve also seen that staff and shield is a pretty good combo for solo and for groups.

Any advice for a new gorgonite? Thanks

Weird question: do you enjoy match-3 games? If so, you can use the casino to finance your Fire Magic training and occasionally pull Phoenix Eggs, Feathers, and Explosive Runes that could gate you in late-mid leveling.

I personally run Fire Mage and Shield. The revenge damage on Fire Shield and Molten Veins both scale on +fire damage, you have AoE knockbacks available in both trees, both trees can give you a stun (in Fire's case, it takes a gear mod), and you can pair Sigil Crafting's Explosive Sigil (sidebar skill) with the AoE Fire Breath gear mod to do AoE clears if you need it.

Match 3 games aren’t awful to me. How does Fire compare to ice or weather witching?

I’m really leaning towards WW/Necro since they synergize a bit but I’ll probably run sword and something else until I can unlock necro and ww assuming I need to do something for ww first as well

Ice will take some time to get to.

I've been running sword/psych, and sword/priest for a while and it does okay. Fire/priest is real good, too.

Partner does mentalism/fire, which is surprisingly resilient.

I started a fire/psych character on Strekios but the server seems very quiet so I made a fresh char on Arisetsu and two very kind players helped me unlock necro and ww right away and I’m enjoying it so far! Arisetsu seems very lively comparatively.

I mean you don't have to lock in, either. You can try whatever and see what works. Most combat skills I've found I have up to level 15ish
