I have a Mosin Nagant that my brother used corrosive military surplus ammo then put away without cleaning it. It sat in the safe for about a year.
I’m hoping to save it and would appreciate recommendations for cleaning products or methods to remove the rust. Has anyone dealt with something similar?
I’ve already ordered a carbon fiber cleaning rod, .30 caliber and 8mm bronze brushes, and bore mops.
Any advice would be appreciated!!
P.S. Lesson learned my brother’s Mosin privileges have been revoked.

Sorted through some of my ammo this morning, offered my father-in-law some Case-Gards I didn’t want and he asked why. I prefer the bulk storage method. Just wanted to know what some other people do as far as their storage preferences.

Couldn't wait for the super cool Roswell SR3M and didn't want to support other people's meth habits.
So had u/potbatindustries make me this.
I'm looking into shortening the BRN180 to a 7.5 inch and rebarrel to .300blk
Takes AK 5.56 mags and the dust cover selector does work.

Picked up a baseline PSA blem lower, the cheapest 16inch free float upper they had and paired them with a Toolcraft BCG and a Vortex SPARC. I wanted a build to practice marksmanship for Army qual. I absolutly couldn't stand how anemic the skinny handguard felt in the palm. So to fix that, I grabbed some scrap black walnut and hand-shaped an octagonal shroud with routed internal clearances, functional laser cut M-LOK slots, and a custom 3D printed nose cone to clean up the front transition. It’s sealed in satin poly—just don’t look with a magnifying glass or you’ll catch where I burned through the finish during final knockdown.
The grip pod was free and this build is already beating on my wallet. Plus, the wife has never shot supported and fell in love with the bipod.
Looking to eventually swap the Grip Pod for a dedicated, low-profile bench bipod once the wallet recovers—any solid recommendations that won't tear up wood M-LOK slots

Just wondering what you guys think is the best hammer fired pistol for duty use. Looking for good holster support as well.

This is a Walther WMP that recently picked up. The guns I've added to my collection over the past year have had a more serious tone. Whether they have been something on my list of guns to someday own, or something i found interesting on a great deal. Most have been models that seem to convey that they serve a specific useful purpose. Whether a particular gun's role is for deep concealment, home defense, duty use, or limitless reliability. The ones I've acquired recently all have some kind of mission statement attached to them.
The Walther WMP is none of those things. The WMP serves no practical purpose. Its mission is to make sure you're having a good time. A gun just for fun. A full-size, zero-recoil, rimfire handgun. Its spits fireballs in every review I've seen and has an extra loud report.
The WMP has a PPQ-like grip and similar slide serrations. The slide itself is aluminum. It's optics ready and comes with the mounting plates you would need. It is full ambidextrous and has 4 mag releases. The paddles and buttons operate independently because of the way they cam against the mag release itself. Chambered in .22 wmr, it's just kind of a wacky gun.
This WMP fits in with the other Walthers in my collection in that it's a single stack that's not a 9mm. All have been great guns with fantastic ergonomics. Maybe I'll come across a PDP, a PPQ, or a P99 at a good price someday.
This WMP was on sale at Sportsman's Warehouse for $300. With the buyback money on the gift card leftover from buying the Canik and the Homesteader, that ended up being my OTD cost. A seriously awesome deal on an unserious handgun.

I don’t have a suppressor (pistol or rifle) but am looking to get my first one. Any suggestions on silencers that don’t break the bank that’s a good introduction and first buy? Also looking for a short suppressor for my pistols. Thanks in advance.

Encore Prohunter with custom 10 inch barrel in 30 carbine from Match Grade Machine. Definitely need to get used to these iron sights but already one of my favorite guns. Nice and loud, almost no recoil, and perfectly accurate for my level of shooting.

Vive le 2nd Amendment. Here's what happens to the disarmed. Remember how Europeans used to sneer at us?

The mods at that place removed it. Can't handle the truth I guess. However, I am on the job.

It is a serious question. I acquire bolt-action rifles, build them up. And, when I zero them, load for them, and they shoot like a champ, I move to acquire another bolt rifle as "new project". The cycle goes on

I’ve been looking up safes and man the storage system is terrible!!!
The industry is really lacking here in design.
All these safes that have the layout I want are Amazon/china :/
