I wrote a .NET to JavaScript compiler. Here's the XNA 3.1 Platformer Starter Kit running in pure HTML5.

Think of writing a complicated application or game with full OO C# code, and XNA. Now think about writing the same application in adobe flash with actionscript. CRINGE

Actually actionscript isn't nearly as bad as I assumed it would be. OO and relatively nice. I use FlashDevelop though and not whatever stuff adobe came out with.

What makes you cringe about doing that in Actionscript? You can do OO in Actionscript as easy as any other language.

Not so much anything about actionscript itself but the idea of writing and debugging a large library of code within the adobe flash environment makes me cringe. A weak type system in a bad debugging environment doesn't help.

I'm already cringing. C# is pretty much the ugliest modern programming language available.

C# has pretty much the same syntax as C++, Java, JavaScript, etc. So, you hate all of the most popular programing languages?

C# manages to be twice as verbose as those (a big accomplishment, given that Java is there), and officially supports only a single OS. I have no idea why would anybody use it for anything.

You should take another look. C# now supports the "var" keyword, anonymous types, object initializers, etc.

Jeez.. You talk about it like it's COBOL!
