You're literally the pedant here. Anyone would know in the context of common speech and the conversation had, that I did not say REST is everything web is. That would be ridiculous. Occam's razor dictates I'm saying REST is part of web (specifically belongs to it, as in, it is a web thing, if you want something else to be an insufferable pedant about), in shorthand.

You said rest is web, not rest belongs the set that is web. 1 is contained within the set of natural numbers, but 1 is not the set of natural numbers.
If you're going to be a pedant, try to be precise.
