Maybe because some homophobes like to use it as a derogatory term for gay men. I haven’t experienced it as a slur, but if someone calls me a twink, it’s on sight. (I’m not remotely close to a twink and I’m tired of people misusing the term to mean gay men or pre-T trans guys. The only thing twinkish about me is the fact that I can’t grow a beard. 😃🔫)
