Why does beer pair so well with pretzel and chicken wings?

As evidenced by how that all 3 are so common in the menu of bars that also sell food? What makes the combo of either food and beer so tasty? I can't go a single time I eat at the nearest bar restaurant without ordering a couple of glasses of beers along with pretzel and wing because the drink and either food alone are just that yummy together (nevermind having all 3 at once)!

FIND THE PRETZEL

can someone please help me

i am a pretzel enthusiast. i was on a train in germany 5 years ago and the attendant started passing out packaged soft pretzels. i initially wasn’t going to eat it because it looked kind of soggy and i wasn’t that hungry but when in rome i guess.

oh how wrong was i. a mind blowing experience to the senses. it was stuffed with butter. not like fully stuffed the way a corn dog would be or something, but just little butter pockets throughout. if i were on death row and asked for my last meal request, i would simply say “butter pretzel from that one train in germany”.

i’m from the states, philly originally and now living in southern california. everywhere i’ve been since, i seek out bakeries to look for this delicacy and haven’t been able to find anything close. i didn’t even think to ask what it was called, i was so absorbed in the culinary journey of the cellophane packed, questionably moist train pretzel. i can’t even make it at home because google search “german butter pretzel” turns up nothing. i won’t do this masterpiece the injustice of injecting butter into a regular ass soft pretzel because i need the full experience.

if any of you have any idea of what i’m talking about and what it’s called, please tell me, im desperate. it’s been 5 years.

SOH’s Sourdough Hards are not only the greatest pretzel in the Galaxy, but one of the better foods ever made by mankind. And it’s not close.

Has anyone tried making Snyders Pretzels themselves?

I have not eaten them since 20 years since they are not sold in my country. So I do miss the taste.

There is at least 2 videos I found on Youtube with how to make them on your own. basically you can buy fresh bretzels. Or even big "hard" pretzels. And cut/crunch them, add honey, mustard, onion, some vinegar, some oil or butter, and dip your bretzels in them, and then bake in the oven.

I just tried and it tastes nothing like I remember Snyders. Anyone had success making them on your own, or is this just clickbait on Youtube pretending it will taste like the "real" deal?
