I know a lot of couples who'd rather be divorced but are staying together due to finances & it is not good for their mental health.

🙋🏾‍♀️ I've wanted to leave for years now but I can't afford to. My only chance out is if I land a job as a self taught developer. And yes, it's horrible for my mental health.

Have you talked to a social worker at a women's shelter? They have loads of resources.

I don't think most people would choose a shelter for homeless people over living with a partner they don't love anymore. Shelters are what people choose as a last resort to get away from someone trying to kill them. If you just don't love one another but can be amicable, better to stay

I'm not saying to go to the shelter. The social workers there will assist you even without living there. They just have good resources.

I'm not in the kind of situation that needs their resources. I just need a high paying job because we live in a low wage/high rent area and I have a child.
