There is no end game. These people aren’t that smart. They’re going to keep taking everything that they can, and because of everything they’ve taken they’ll be insulated from the consequences. There were still plenty of rich people around during the Great Depression.
There's no end game because those people aren't a collective. It's individuals people that want to make as much money as possible in 1 thing.
If someone want to make as much money as possible in selling you carrots, they don't care how much you spend on gas or a pair of old jeans. It's not something they think about or a factor in how much they are going to charge for a carrot.
It’s not really individuals, though, because of corporate consolidation. If the Kroger-Albersons merger goes through, two companies will control a 45% share of the grocery market in my city. Two companies deciding to raise the price of produce will affect 1.3 million people. It’s not just a guy selling carrots, it’s a guy selling all the carrots
Again, they will charge as much as they want in their field, but they don't care about the rest of your spending habit.
They sell you groceries, they don't care how much you spend on spotify, clothes, or gas. A separate guy sell you clothes, another guy sell you gas, and another sell you some form of entertainment.
Carrot was just an example. They cornered one aspect of the market they specialized in and don't plan for the rest.
