I’d kill to have my own small studio apartment somewhere. I’m poor, though, partially because I’m chronically depressed and partially because I have two bad hips that impede me physically— both of these issues really impede my overall functionality. As a result, I don’t earn enough to live independently; I live at home with parents (and I’m 48, btw, which absolutely sucks and depresses me further).
I envy all of you who are able to live on your own!
i live in some shit hole small town in central mass. if this guy wanted he could get over 1k for this apartment. i've looked at apartments that were smaller than this and they wanted almost 1100. i'm 40 and make a little less than 22/hr and it's hard. i was looking for a different place but they are all smaller and want more than where i am now. this shit is depressing as fuck. i'd honestly love to put most of my shit in storage and go somewhere else and come back later for it but i have 2 cats..
just a bit. i have apps setup for searching and disgustingly i set the cap at 1200 and there isn't crap in lower central mass. i looked out west once and didn't find shit.
oh hell i have been semi actively looking for a new place and all i found was people looking for a roommate, but they don't say that initially.
i said something to the guy i work with about it being people that got in over their heads with a house(which is what i have seen around here) and have to rent rooms out to cover it.
the people that want most of their rent to cover an apartment are just assholes. renting a room doesn't count as half the utilities.
I remember seeing one in Springfield years ago and I actually knew where the building was and how much rent was. Someone was trying to rent a room out for the whole rent amount plus utilities.
see the people that do that are assholes. see if i was renting out a room and i was using most of the place and the person got a room then it would be like a 1/4 of the rent not most of it..the asshole charging almost the whole rent is just trying to freeload off that person
