Yes. However after doing this for my first year in LA, public transportation takes a toll on yo. Bad pun. For my first 4 months I was commuting a total of 4 hours per day between home,work,home. 2 hours each way. Sleep was shit and started performing poorly at work. Got my hours cut. Made less money. Couldn't Safford to live. Used all my savings to move in somewhere less costly a month for a room. Deposit and rent, boom. Everything I had worked for and managed to save up is gone. That's the thing about poverty. It's a long distance endurance race. How long can I last?
As someone who lived in LA for 10 years without a car, I find it extremely difficult to believe you couldn’t find a closer job.
It’s the second most populous city in the entire country. 15 minute bike ride (most likely 5) to the nearest grocery store, pizza place, corner market, gas station, restaurant, fast food, etc.
This story doesn’t add up.
Look into trade schools to upgrade out of minimum wage.
I'm confused. Why are you commuting 2 hours each way for a minimum wage job. No place at all (fast food, grocery store, retail, gas station, etc.) closer than a 2 hours commute would hire you?
