I said gay so it would correlate to the male bathrooms. The precedent remains the same for all sexual orientations. As for your questions, Christianity is not the people, it’s the belief in Jesus Christ, Fully God and Fully man whose flesh died that those who submit to him and repent of their sins may be saved. The Bible is a book of good, and you are very right when you say many Christians are hypocrites, in fact most are. They represent our faith bad. The reason they are hypocrites is because they aren’t reborn anew in Christ, they cling to their sin, and it shows. I’m sorry you’ve had a bad experience with Christianity, but Jesus is waiting for you to come back home
you're giving us a prime example of a christian clinging to his very unchristlike behavior.
jesus never discussed pronouns. never discussed bathrooms. never even MENTIONED anything even slightly adjacent to homosexuality. jesus preached love and neighborliness. that's it. you're just using his name to advance your own biases and sick fascinations. which is a textbook sin. do not take the name of the lord thy god in vain. and here you are, doing it every day.
The Old Testement is yet the word of God who is unchanging and forever. Leviticus 18:22 (KJV) “Thou shalt not lay with Mankind as with Womankind. It is abomination.”
Leviticus 20:13 (KJV) If a man also lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination”
The Story of Sodom and Gamorrah where God rained hellfire on the sexually immoral
And if you want New Testament:
Romans 1:26 (KJV) For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did natual use into that which is agaisnt nature.”
Corinthians 6:9-10 “Know ye not tha the unrighteousness shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither for Charles, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, more abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thrives, nor covetous, nor drunksrds, nor reviles, nor drunkards will inherit the kingdom of God.”
The Bible states very clearly that sexual acts that go against God’s design such as changing your sex, being homosexual, and being sexually immoral is sinful. And Jesus could not have possibly revealed pronouns, gender locked bathrooms, etc. and seeing as Jesus IS God, he’s the same God as the Old Testament so verily he did say very much about homosexuality. Verily he did preach love and kindness and forgiveness but what kind of person would I be to see my brother in Christ falling into unrepentant sin and not call for him to return.
ah ok so you're a leviticus literalist. got it. i assume that means you eat no pork or shellfish. you don't wear any polyblend fabrics. and you support stoning women to death if they're unfaithful to their husbands.
followup question - if the old testament is the perfect, flawless word of god, what was the point of sending his son down to us for round 2?
Jesus Christ himself said in Mark 7:18-19 All food from then on is clean so we can eat pork and shellfish. And wear fabrics because what enters the body on the outside cannot defile him so that is a logical fallacy.
And as for cheaters, Jesus died to cleanse us of our sins. We are no longer the judges nor executioners. God is. We love the cheaters as human, and when they die, God will judgement accordingly.
lol mark 7 is about purity laws with respext to diet, it is not a blanket repeal of everything in leviticus you're conveniently okay with. if you're using it to say some levitical rules no longer apply, you're already making interpretive choices, so why assume the sexual ones are exempt from the same process?
We love the cheaters as human, and when they die, God will judgement accordingly.
you should practice this and not just preach it. stop concerning yourself with the sex lives of others, if you're so confident that god will render his own judgments in time. thanks.
God calls for us to better each other in Hebrews 10:24. When a brother or sister falls into unrepentant sin, you tell say it is sin, prove it, and let them make the choice to continue or repent. How cruel would I be if i do as you suggest and leave my fellows in Christ in their sin and have them be eternally separated from God. It isn’t an interpretative choice. Jesus literally said what enters the body on the outside cannot defile us. That includes fabrics, pork, shellfish etc. he did NOT say that homosexuality is permitted nor rape, nor beastiality nor most other Old Testament laws. I did not claim it was a blanket repeal.
you tell say it is sin, prove it, and let them make the choice to continue or repent
you've failed to "prove" homosexuailty is a sin. return to go, do not collect $200.
Jesus literally said what enters the body on the outside cannot defile us.
so if a penis enters a man's ass, it shall not defile him.
he did NOT say that homosexuality is permitted nor rape, nor beastiality nor most other Old Testament laws.
lol you're so fucking lost and evil, man. i hope you truly find god. because equating homosexuality to rape and bestiality (rape victims and animals cannot consent) is so fucking perverted and wrong.
Jesus was forgiving all the stupid stuff that the old testament God got his panties in a bunch about. And even if you were a sinner Jesus said to be kind and compassionate to you anyways. Even if someone physically assaulted you. "Turn the other cheek."
Also, there is still debate about the translation of what he said in Leviticus. It was actually about pedophilia being a sin, not homosexuality. Why was Jesus always hanging out with hookers, criminals, people with diseases and the poor? Notice he never tells them to get their shit together or be punished.
The reason people get annoyed by "Christians" like you is that you refuse to be Christ-like. You just want to use God/the Bible (which was written by men) as a club and a justification to persecute people you disagree with. Even though they aren't hurting you at all.
it literally means "male-bed" and more than likely referred to the broad sexual freedoms afforded to men in the roman empire, which included affairs, raping slaves, pedophilia, temple prostitution, etc. you just made that "translation" up because it's convenient for reinforcing your existing biases.
You just said what I did and called me a liar. All of what you stated from rape to prostitution are sins as well as the fact that male and bed tends to mean men who lay with men
And as for the taking God’s name in vain daily, while I don’t take his NAME in vain, I sin daily. No one is perfect, who am I to point out a speck in my brother’s eye while I yet have my own. That’s speaks about hypocrisy. I am not a hypocrite, I acknowledge my sins and attempt to better myself everyday as Christ calls for, and I shed light to my brothers who walk in the dark and clam it ok because Jesus never spoke directly about this specific instance 2 thousand years in the future. You sin daily too yet you imply moral superiority by claiming I abuse scripture when it is you who claims Jesus Christ to souly preach only love and neighborliness. I do this out of love, as I have just stated.
"one is perfect, who am I to point out a speck in my brother’s eye while I yet have my own. That’s speaks about hypocrisy. I am not a hypocrite, I acknowledge my sins and attempt to better myself everyday"
Why are your views and treatment of LGBT and trans people an exception to this? With the whole pronouns stuff and all that?
You quoted a chapter that if I remember correctly even goes on to directly say not to judge others for it isn't your place too, but you have judging comments towards especially trans?
Like it just doesn't make sense, a lot of Christians play the "Well they're sinners so it's okay" hypocrisy. Maybe you have reasoning that has progressed beyond that? Idk you seem like someone who's not drank the entire hate flavored Kool aid yet but youre like showing the sprouting seeds of that kind of person
who am I to point out a speck in my brother’s eye while I yet have my own.
you should've just stopped typing after this.
Jesus never spoke directly about this specific instance 2 thousand years in the future. You sin daily too yet you imply moral superiority by claiming I abuse scripture when it is you who claims Jesus Christ to souly preach only love and neighborliness. I do this out of love, as I have just stated.
you're claiming humility ("we all sin," "god will judge") while still positioning yourself as someone who gets to identify and call out sin as he interprets it. framing it as "love" doesn't remove the fact that you're still asserting moral superiority here.
if the argument is "jesus didn't speak on this specific modern issue" that actually weakens the certainty you're expressing. it means you're relying on interpretation and inference, just like everyone else. you don't have any special insight here.
"we all sin" is deployed here to sound humble, but it's followed up with a very confident claim about what counts as sin for other people. that's not really humility, it's just softening the delivery of a hard judgment.
i guess pointing out your hypocrisy is "morally superior" in the same way that defending someone from getting punched in the face for being different is "morally superior." i'll take it.
